I like how I go 6+months without watching a video on this channel. And when I come back I can count on Randy saying two things....1 "dead as a doornail" and 2 "does the important window work" haha

The "heat shield" on that Datsun is actually the skid plate that goes under the engine. (Edit) And 82-83s had the "turbo" hood, regardless of turbo status. That electric "turbo" is a cooling fan for the fuel injector rail. Cars were prone to vapor lock.

Me 10 years ago would have gone bananas for that 280zx, now, I don't particularly care for them because even back then it was hard to find parts for them even used on ebay. Man that car brought me memories, mainly memories of spending ungodly amounts of time looking for parts.

I had a Nissan silvia 1.8 Turbo once that Z2800 brought back some memories. She used to have a rear wheel drive. I had a lot of girls on the backseat of my Nissan enjoying that axel 🤪 You don't see those cars anymore i bet this is going to be a classic. Parts are hard to get but it sure is a waste, hopefully someone is going to buy it and brings it back to life.

Those X3 can be good cars. On older guy had his X3 till last year when he passed away and his son sold it for an 5 series. I’m pretty sure he was the cars first owner and took good care of it. He pretty much drove it every day till he couldn’t so then his son used it. Shame that cars like these cannot be sold by dealers to private buyers due to them having to give a mandatory warranty on a 15 year old BMW. That’s why it’s so hard to get cheap cars where I live. German laws suck when it comes to that.

The Infiniti Q 45 Infiniti is really amazing my wife’s grandmother passed in 2017 and we inherited it . The body style was a 2005 upgraded facelift and rear end The horsepower will surprise you it’s about 340 horses powered by the V-8 reliable Nissan engine NASCAR was using back in the day the only thing that we had problems with was the struts and the car only had 42,000 miles we gave it to my brother around 90,000 miles and he still drives it to this day there were only 1200 produced in 2005 that makes it very rare very comfortable too used to take it from Florida to New York all the time highway cruiser for sure Great pick up on the highway if you had a situation where you had to break hard the seatbelt has like a motor It will pull you back into the seat some have an option that has intelligent cruise control with radar braking crazy how it had that at the time .It was my wife’s first car she ever had great memories from high school .

BUY that 280Zx 2+2 NOW! In running, decent condition, it's worth $8K up to $20K or more for one in pristine condition so there's lots of room here for investment in the body, paint, engine, and interior. And, it will provide us with a lot of interesting vlogs. Done right, this could make you a lot of cash. 👍✌ P.S. My dad bought new in 1972, a Datsun 240Z, and came waltzing home in it, and I happened to be outside on the driveway to see him pull up. I was shocked to say the least as this was something my dad, so I thought, would never buy as a family man with 3 boys. That night my mom, my dad, and myself scrunched up, laying down in the back, went to Vegas 300 miles away. When not sitting up between the two front seats, I was laying down in the back looking through the hatch at the stars in the pitch black desert. My dad would pick me up from school, and I was feeling that my dad is so cool moment. A lot of memories in that car, SO BUY IT RANDY! 😁😁😀😀🙂🙂😁😁

Sadly, the ZX is a parts car. Its only value mainly is the 5 speed transmission & the P79 cylinder head. The motor is a L28. same as the 280z from 75 on. As mentioned, the electric fan is a injector cooling fan, runs 15 min after the car is shut off to address heat soak issues. All ZX's from 82 on all got the turbo hood. Looks like a $300 parts car to me....

I had an '82 Datsun (by Nissan) 280zx w/ t-tops. I would love a 2+2. Incorrect regarding the hood meaning turbo. Minecand all 280zx's turbo or not hat that hood vent set-up. Long Motor Company (lmc truck parts/Victoria British) in Lenexa, KS used to have a Datsun/Nissan Z car line. There is only 1 or 2 companies still around that deal with Z car parts.

That 280 xx brought back some memories. My parents owned an 83 2+2 auto. It was such a cool car. Everyone raved about it then and still talk about it today. It would have the female voice come on to tell you your doors were open or fuel was low. My brother ended up driving it w/o engine oil and began to overheat. It didn't do any damage and ran for many more years. Unfortunately, they were prone to rusting and ours began to by the early 90s. I think your example is too far gone. It would need a ground up restoration and I'm sure would cost a fortune. I'm not sure how much mint ones are worth as they are rare but I still don't think it would be worth it. The Infiniti looks promising though.
