I speak from experience when I say that's a great first car. I have a 2012 coupe and it's been an amazing little car. Even gets 30+ mpg. Edit: Just went on an 9hr road trip and she made it with no problems and averaged 36mpg. Got an oil change the following day crossing over 125k on the dot. This car is definitely a keeper.

The tornado vet is a project that would be a waste of time as its still a salvage title . worth half an an unmolested . the Honda si is a great car for nick as the damage is already done but still looks decent !

Great first car option! I still have my 2015 Si 4 door with only 30k on it, original owner. Love it so much I just bought a 2024 Si in addition lol. Funny…i work at an Acura dealer and we just took the exact same 2-door Si rallye red on a trade-in yesterday!

That civic would be awesome for Nick's first car. Reliable, fun, easy to work on, cheap on fuel and cheap parts. Plus as you mentioned it's manual for him to learn. I'd have checked the clutch too. Almost certain someone put an aftermarket one in. Might make it a tad trickier to learn on.

I would go with the undercarriage vet all day long.. You don't have to mess with a bunch of body damage. All original paint. I think the unknown of the undercarriage damage would bring more views. If the damaged ends up not being that bad it could be a big score.

my cousin has a si just like that, he absolutely loves it.. seems pretty slow to me but i have a ls swapped 89 chevy that i daily.. the si definitely handles good tho but is not comfortable. i would buy *vettnader* over theundercharrage vett, and leave most of the body damage and just enjoy it.. dont have to worry about parking it someplace, maybe later fix the bad fiberglass parts and fill the deep scratches and wrap it maybe

Hail damage cars might be a great option for a teen's firat car, espeially in your area. It's probably going to get hailed on again. Even something with what appears to have a small impact can have hidden unibody damage that screws up the suspension. Wife has a Buick Encore that had been wrecked and it ate right front strut units. It drove fine and the car would take an alignment, but something was messed up and it would need a new strut every 20-25k. Yep, hail car may be the way to go.

The Chevy Spark still scares me but a Nissan CVTs are scary too. I went with my mother to a Nissan dealership last week. I told them small car and no CVT. They didn't have anything. I saw later that you can order a Sentra with a 6 speed which is good.

That's a really good first car. And if he doesn't wreck it, you'll probably inherit it when he buys his next one. Civic si's can get 300,000 to 400,000 miles before needing major repairs if you don't fast and furious it.

Honda civic coupe in automatics with 120k miles are worth $6,500-$9,500 and manuals are usually $1,000-$2,000 cheaper. But that coupe is fully loaded but even so I wouldn’t think it’s more than $10k! Maybe if a dealer was selling it they’d get $13,k but it’s a bit much! Used dealers between NH-MA- that get inspected yearly including for excessive rust (they’ll take it off the road worthy lot and sell it AS-IS) are selling mint ones for $7,500 with less then 100k miles

The mechanical actuator that allows the air to come out the defrost or the dash or the floor is stuck and those can cost about $1500 or more because you have to pull the whole dash out! And the screens about another $2,500 to just get the screen alone! I saw a few of these BMWs on KZbin channel garage Where he was explaining those little things are newer cars will and are totalling our cars alone! Especially Tesla because you cannot even put the car and drive or in any gear if that screen goes out it’s a main frame of controlling the car but they’re so expensive that it will total the car!

The KZbin It's just a 6 just won a new vette but the whole front end was smashed for 32,750 before fees. It was 35,000 with fees. The tornado vette is going to run more as it looks not as bad most likely.

That Civic has about every red flag to avoid it there could be. Lowered(suspension is ruined), quick releases on the front bumper so it’s been smashed up, a fart can muffler, and the wiring from a system. It says “I was beaten on by some kid, smashed a few times, and dumped”

Honda civic in manual is a solid car! Will give you the least amount of issues the automatic Hondas are weak points But manuals are great and easy to learn on! They can take the abuse of first time learner. As long as they get it within a few hours 😂
