Probable unpopular opinion, get that Mercury Tracer, it'd be fun to see vids on it on your channel, plus you just do NOT see those anymore and when you do they're usually rotted out beyond repair. This one's solid but in need of care, which gives it SOME redeemability lol OBVIOUSLY you'd be buying it for the entertainment value more than to actually make anything from it but still

I can personally verify the story about the Saturn SLs. I worked for a former Saturn dealership in New Orleans for a few years, and the most common issues were people wanting to replace the SL2 motors with another SL2 motor and never thought to replace the transmissions in them. Don't even make Saturn's anymore so may be a challenge finding parts etc and why fix a car that has very minimal value without damage or even worse with damage!

The 91 Escort was my Drivers Ed car in school. This one was in the early part of that generation since it didn't come equipped with airbags. It did have an after market passenger brake pedal installed.

Trikes are what you ride when you get old and two wheels aren't comfortable any more and you don't want to stop riding. Some states and provinces brand your motorcycle license as only for trikes/three wheels if that is what you got your license on. This includes side car equipped motorcycles.

Get the Ion Redline. A lot of Saturns were rebadged Opels. You can probably find a lot of parts overseas if you couldnt find any here

Go for the Saturn Redline and the trike. Then you can do a personal side by side comparison of that compared to a regular motorcycle. The redline can be for the nostalgia and fun of it.

400 bucks isn't bad for that little Mercury tracer and it sounds healthy. my brother just bought a Mercury tracer wagon that's a couple years older than that in way worse shape for $700🤣 i think the Saturn ion would be a very interesting fix for the channel too! And my take on that other youtuber, I totally agree with you randy. Everyone isn't going to have the same preferences. If we all liked the same things the world would be a boring place. We're all in this together and we're not going to get out alive so be kind to one another.

Saw a little grey Focus just like this one at a auction recently. Ran and drove with high miles. Junkyard bought it for $300. So $5,000 is just a tad high 😆

The Saturn would be a great project and interesting to watch. The Tracer, if it could be had for $200 or so max would be another one to see what the Auto Spa could do. Maybe do a little “home cooking” on the paint and see what happens.

The other problem with Saturn Ion's is there is no oil dipstick so you dont know how much oil there is in the car!! Ive had one of these before!! Also... the reverese lockout mechanism is very flimsy and GM cut corners on it during MFG but making it out of cheap, cheap plastic.... they break very easily and are expensive to replace

*Technically* a 95 Escort wagon was my first car. I got it from my neighbor when I was 14 with 180k and a broken timing belt. Ended up getting scrapped

You can just change out the computer You can also replace it with an automatic computer if the car is a manual. You'll cancel out the rev limiter if you do it that way. However it does have to be from the same year Saturn for all to work properly. I only know this because I used to race a 95 saturn Sc2 at a circle track asphalt race track.

The $5k Focus has the ultra rare electric deicer option, that you plug in to an outlet outside your house, as clearly the defrost function doesn't work in the car!

Randy I was a biker all my life from aged 16 to when i stopped 2 years ago aged 72. I always had Triumphs (apart from one mega ZZR1100 which I did MILES on and loved) and my last bike was a Triumph Daytona 675 Factory special build. I once tried a mate's Harley and I just couldn't ride 'feet forward' at all. I felt like I was falling off all the time. Then I realised why: I ride with my feet (Old School) and they have to be underneath me to move weight around. Even the early '60s bikes had the pegs sort of under you and the first 'tweak' was always to put rear sets on. And then 'Clip On' bars. I respect people who do up Harleys and the like but they are just not my 'thing'. Be careful and ride like everyone is an idiot and you will be fine mate ... Jealous here!

I'm like you, Randy, I like Miata's, To have someone pull up at a red light, and trash talk me, that's not cool, not cool at all. It's the same way with the gentleman on the Harley, he was enjoying his day, and some douche pulls up, and starts trash talking him. I wish more people would respect what people drive, or ride. I mean, they're enjoying their day, and somoone has to ruin it for them, make them feel bad. How would they like it, if someone came up to him, and started trash talking him for riding one of those sport bikes? You get the idea, people are rude sometimes. Thanks for the video, Randy.

That’s REDLINE is in overall really good looking shape, looks like it might have a aftermarket remote start/alarm…. There’s an antenna on the left side of the dashboard by the speaker grill. Seeing the bottle of Prestone antifreeze in the trunk though is kind of a big turn off… Does she got a leak????

I just love watching your videos. Don't care about the cars you have chosen. You chose them because you found something interesting in all of them. Old , new, American, foreign, luxury, base model or whatever, I find it interesting when you pick the vehicles you do. I always look at some of the ones next to the ones you are reviewing and wonder if they will be on a future video, like the Lincoln Town Car next to the Saturn. I like the Saturn. Well Randy, you asked for us to comment about riding or driving a trike....... you say it has to have 2 wheels so you can ride it, I disagree, a horse has 4 legs, yet still you ride it..... in my opinion, if you sit ON it, you are riding it, if you can sit in (and operating it) your driving..... (you ride the train, since you dont operate it, and also as passenger in the car u ride in the car......) therefore you say, "taking a ride in the car ........"like the vids, keep it up

My mom had a 96 SL1 or 2 and lasted us a good 9 years when I was young until the transmission blew. And we bought a 2005 Odyssey witch lasted a 166k miles until something blew I have no idea what.

I really enjoy the content never disappointed. I have been wanting to get a cruiser bike like a Harley have limited funds so I have been thinking about getting one from a auction. And trykes have their place my neighbor has been riding for 40 years . And now that he is older he doesn't have the strength in his legs like he used to but still wants ride.
