The most obvious scam for me is whenever “low mileage” vehicle is selling for like $800 or $1,000 (unless the vehicle doesn’t run or drive) and there are multiple listings of the same car by that user on Marketplace

I sometimes ask a seller to send me a picture of the part with today's newspaper sitting next to it, to prove that they currently have the part.

Are newspapers still really that common?
@browserrr12 ай бұрын
@@sussaab you can always put the screen of a phone/tablet/laptop with a today's article besides the part.

Good idea! Usually a sheet of paper is easiest though. I haven’t touched a newspaper in years personally lol

I haven't seen a news paper in years.

That list is for best for sure! Definitely seeing an uptick on the C900 FB group. Really sucks for those looking for actual parts from actual people. Also, I can probably add one to your list (off the last FB post you showed), and it can work for any scam, regardless if it's a FB, Insta, Twitter, email, or literally any scam and it makes me laugh every time I see it: 9. Includes the word "Kindly"
@AutoAutopsy2 ай бұрын
Good one! They definitely use that word a lot too
@Haans50102 ай бұрын
alot of them will call you "sir" alot too. the backgrounds all need to match, ive seen that way too much too. ive been screwed hard before. stay safe!
@AutoAutopsy2 ай бұрын
Good tip - “sir” is all too common

I always check the pictures with goolge lens. Normaly you can find the original source then.

I ask for a picture of their driver's license. Filters them out quickly.

Tom's Foreign Autos in CT is legit. And they occassionally part out Saabs. Oops, faux pas

Ha! I was just about to write the same thing. They are actually a really good place for used parts.
