Autobrite Direct Citrus Wash and Purple Velvet Shampoo | Ep014

The citrus wash is top stuff. I use it at 10:1 but my van is always filthy! Not used the purple velvet as I use ceramic infused shampoo for the added protection and that surprised me how well it cleans too.

A good pre-wash is essential and the better the chemicals, the easier the job 👌🏼 Shampoo was very impressive 👍🏼

I like Autobrite stuff, I know they get some bad chat in some circles but I like them.. Magifoam does lasts longer than snow on Everest. Big fan of there magiseal too. That stuff is durable. I did their back to basic course a few years back and that was quite eye opening.

I bought 5 Litre of the citrus a number of years ago in a sale at a bargain price. It is still over half full & I use it at least twice a week diluted 30 to 1 so I am sure it will last many more I am really happy with it. I generally spray it on and then overlay my snow foam and it cleans to my satisfaction. These products are really good generally but as previously stated I have my favourites and use other manufacturers for other tasks but Citrus is a keeper.

The citrus was another product that really surprised me John, I wasn't really expecting it to be a great pre-wash but using Autobrite Direct products recently has taught me not to be judgemental of brands/products before trying them with an open mind! There will be a lot more to come from Autobrite on the channel (amongst other brands of course!! Lol)

Literally just after buying this combo in my local car parts shop. I've always been a follower of them just always stuck to Autofinesse as I know they do the job well too, have you ever used Autofinesse ? Also got a bottle of Gyeon ceramic quick detailer to top up the coating after the wash so looking forward to seeing the gloss off that and using Gyeon product. Where you from anyways I'm in Derry.

I've tried a couple of Auto Finesse products and wasn't blown away if I'm honest! Although I know others who absolutely love them! I'm in Ballymoney - small world lol

I've been using their wash and gloss shampoo and citrus prewash for nearly a year now and although the shampoo isn't that sudsy it does leave a nice finish and easy to rinse off, the prewash is alrdy diluted too which makes it handier but need something with a bit more power lol Deffs is, keep up the good work and look forward to watching more of your videos pal 🙌👌

I'm out of the Shampoo now but enjoyed using it . I'm using Banana Gloss on light dirt on my card. I've the Citrus shampoo for heavy dirt. Like you said the ratios are often forgotten and I'm one who just thinks average of 10 or 20 MM dependant on the dirt on the car . Big fan of the shampoos on the whole , not long had the wheel shampoo and seems more than up to that job too

Exactly why I got into this mate, 100%!! I find it fascinating how people can use exactly the same products in seemingly the same way but get different results... Is it water?? Is it the type of dirt?? Who knows but it's something I find really interesting to see 👍🏼👍🏼

Having bought 5 litres of the citrus, 1:20 didn’t cut the mustard but at 1:10 it is an effective product 👍

I'll be honest Trev, I wasn't expecting it to do as well as it did on that level of dirt but it performed very well .. perhaps if it had been another few weeks I might've needed 1:10! 👍🏼

Quality pre wash product that! I love a snowfoam but when using citrus like this I do wonder if it's really necessary. Well I suppose it's worth it for the fun 😂. Sat here early hours of the morning in a lay-by in the truck watching another great Quick Test Tuesday video, someone's going to take me away in a white padded van with square wheels🤣🤣. Wasn't sure how this one was going to turn out as it seems to be a marmite citrus pre wash. Some reviews love it and others hate it, having never used this brand might be worth a look at their pre wash for work. Will stick to GT for the shampoo though, oh and speaking of GT, YOU SHOW OFF, flipping the gt wash mitt. You couldn't resist could you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, still haven't had chance to use mine yet 😔😔

Happy New year. I've got a couple of AD products, seem fine to me, not got their citrus though and as I'm about to use the last of the Valet Pro, it could be an option, even in low ratio of 10-1, that's a better ratio than the VP citrus. I used citrus to clean my dads, soffits and fascias the other day, with a Vikan brush, citrus tore threw the grime, I do like a citrus. Right, I've got another of your videos to watch.

Thank you Chris. That's actually a good question that I don't have the answer to! I know this one states it's a 'High-Gloss' shampoo but tbh, only using 20-30ml in a bucket with 17/18L of water, I don't notice it having any wax- related effect on the paintwork - but that doesn't really answer your question! Decon Shampoo doesn't contain any waxes but it's not really a 'straight shampoo' either tbh, it does have a specific purpose. If you ask the guys themselves via Facebook/Instagram they are very approachable 👍🏼

Good video Mark, i bought 5L of the Citrus a couple of years ago & still have some. I used it at 10:1 and i thought it was just an OK product. I won't be buying any more though because Surfex Hd & Road Rage both used at 20:1 are in my humble opinion better & more cost effective.

Hi Alan, thank you 👍🏼 Well I can only speak from my own experiences and show them but it definitely worked on this occasion... Maybe the wet cold weather has meant the dirt hasn't fully bonded to the paintwork, who knows, but I was happy enough that it had done a good job 👍🏼

I use AD citrus at 1/30 and get great results i have road rage too at 1/30 it aint the same surfex hd is great but i never use it for pre wash

Autobrite don’t have enough products of interest to me to wait for a sale even to offset the delivery.charge. I use 90% GT products & can make up to cover delivery with other useful goodies from several detailing suppliers. Autobrite just isn’t my thing, but it is obviously for many others. There is no right or wrong about this, just individual preferences.👍

Believe it or not, I won the sample kit (or I should say my wife won it!) In a school raffle back in June, donated by a local parts store - I doubt anyone foreseen the kit ending up in the hands of a KZbin reviewer 🤣🤣 (albeit a pretty minor one lol) Genuinely loving the P80, it's not perfect but nothing is, however it is VERY impressive and I'm really happy with it... I don't want to say too much before I review it properly but it certainly won't be binned 🤣🤣

It can indeed, in fact I've used it on wheels as a pre-wash since making this and it did a decent job... Didn't get them spotless but nothing would without contact! These were standard, OEM spec silver wheels btw - I haven't used this on Diamond Cut, chrome or any other finish 👍🏼

Hello Mark. Do you think from a cost and effectiveness point of view, that using citrus all over the car is better than snow foam or is it just preference.

It really depends on too many factors to say yes or no to that one - level of dirt, TYPE of dirt (winter roads Vs summer!) level of protection, time of year in terms of temperature/moisture... Generally speaking (when in not testing products), I would apply a Citrus/APC/TFR, leave for a few minutes and then blanket with a snowfoam for even more dwell time but whether that's cost effective, or even necessary!, Is very much debatable. At the end of the day, this is a hobby for people like myself, rather than a profession, so I tend to go with methods I enjoy rather think about the costs too much. I hope that answers your question and wasn't just a load of waffle lol

Well yes and no... If the product still performs well diluted enough for regular maintenance (e.g. 1:100) and doesn't imact the protection then yes, there isn't really a 'need' for snowfoam... But most snow foams are fairly gentle and have minimal impact on protection which is why a lot of people use snowfoam on its own in the summer months to help remove light dust etc.

Well I definitely found it more effective than the ready-to-use 'Citrus Power' from AF but that would be a much weaker mixture than this to be fair...
