The US gets the 2 row CX70 and 3 row CX90. Europe gets the smaller 2 row CX60 and 3 row CX 80. In Australia we get all 4 in a market overload including a powerful diesel option. Lovely cars.

This was a perfect review. I just purchased the same equipped model in white and you touched on the exact thing I would've. Also, on hard acceleration it feels a little. I came out of a GV70 and that was smooth as butter on hard acceleration. The parking lot jerkiness is because you get up to 5-7 miles per hours and it wants to change the second gear, oddly enough you kinda need to manage the pedal a bit through 1-2 and even third gear and then it's smooth sailing. Sport mode holds the revs a little too much. I'm also having trouble getting used to the black lines through the 360° camera. All that said I pretty much new about all these characteristics of the vehicle from watching numerous reviews and I purchased it anyway. It's very unique and absolutely beautiful inside and out. I love the fact that it has no black plastic trim around the outside and that it has a traditional dashboard instead of one of those cheap looking panels

Rented a cx90 for a few days and here are my observations 1. Cruise control doesn’t work if the drive mode toggle is set to Sport. 2. Heated seats don’t remember the setting when you restart the car 3. If you set the parking brake while in drive or reverse, it won’t auto release if you press the gas pedal. 4. The inline 6 isn’t as quiet as I had hoped. It felt louder than the Toyota 3.5L V6. I had expected it to be closer to a b58 in smoothness 5. Poor fit finish on the speakers on the doors. You can see them move if you touch them 6. HUD doesn’t show as much info as i expected but I did love the CarPlay directions and BSM readout on the hud though 7. The touchscreen is locked to more expensive trims

Your right. I was fan of Mazda and already have two Mazda. But drove 90, and realized is not refined at all. The car lacks in engineering. Poor transformation, handling, noisy, car is so heavy.
@curiosityredpill7030Ай бұрын
It’s only the first year give them some time to refine everything
@eddiem488Ай бұрын
@@curiosityredpill7030 Great point! It’s something a lot of people seem to be forgetting. It’s not just a new generation it’s a completely new vehicle for Mazda. Some manufacturers don’t even produce vehicles this well after 5 years of the same models. The CX-90 and CX-70 are far from perfect, but if this is how great these models are starting, I can only imagine how much better they’re going to get. Not to name a specific brand, but a lot of manufacturers put every gimmick, massive touchscreens and tech into new vehicle models, but don’t even end up getting the basics right. At least most of the things Mazda needs to improve on are simply based on customer preferences and changes that they can easily make from one year to the next.

We want this WITHOUT a traction battery that might fail in thermal runaway!!!! NO turbo that will fail early !!! And a MUCH lower price!!!

1. There’s only 1 hybrid plug in option. The other is a newer version of the traditional hybrid power train. 2. There’s more space hidden underneath just behind the back seats he didn’t showcase at all. 🤷🏻♂️ 3. The 21” wheels also come in the 2nd to highest trim level not just the top of the line. 4. It is real suede.

This is a gorgeous SUV! I wish it were about a foot shorter, though. The Outback is the perfect size SUV. Unfortunately, Subaru refuses to build anything beautiful. Going back to the 2015 model design would be a start.

also the CX-70 needs to be 3-4 inches narrower. It barely fits into parking spots and garage doors. Nothing wrong with Subaru.

Good review. You didn’t go off too much on the Infotainment (I prefer using the control knob to enabling wireless Apple CarPlay on touchscreen while in motion) & there’s no argument that you expect a few add’l cargo cu. ft., not just under load-floor space, from deleting CX-90’s third row. I sprang for the PHEV Premium, but exactly because of what you said about the faux wood, metal & suede, I didn’t go for a Premium Plus. I’ll refer you to the other comment re: brakes break-in, & the lack of a torque converter isn’t a problem for me at all; this is the first vehicle I’ve ever owned with an automatic transmission in my 47 years of driving, & at least it’s not a CVT 1-spd., but my PHEV has two hydraulic clutches & 8 speeds.
@kdomster9141Ай бұрын
It is not CX90 , the chassis and tuning is slightly different. It is a real intake . Agree that exhaust could show tips. Cargo is huge and more than sufficient. 42K MSRP is greatly equipped and can be bought well under 40K ! Mazda is Affordable but premium is design and build quality Tech is awesome and control knob and vol buttons are big reason I want Mazda over cheap touch screens all over the place , Android Auto works great as main system . So I love this Tech and it works great. Resolution is awesome on the screen while in Android Auto . I never use Mazda or other brands infotainment , Android Auto is always better Love high load floor, don't need more trunk space . Let these brakes break in. I6 turbo is awesome , wish it had lower tone to it . Maybe using 0W40 would make itbmore low tone . Cabin noise is very low but hope they will make it quieter . Mild Hybrid electric motor instead of torque converter needs further polish or redesign for more responsive start up ... maybe by using sport mode it should be different then Normal mode . Honda and Subbies are cheese, lots of QC problems over the years ....

Toyota and Lexus are boring. Mazda has power, nice interior, good fuel economy and is fun to drive.

Mazda is slept on. They are def in the reliability conversation with easy parts to get for a similar price with Toyota Honda parts. They came a long way they invest heavily on luxury lately but consistent with their performance and experience being one with the car. Not meant to impress you with super updated technology but really the simplicity factor and not breaking the bank makes it a must own. To me they all have that Mazda Miata mode where you can feel youre in their original model of their coupe

Really looking forward to a new SUV. The only true turn off is the technology / infotainment system. When you pay this much for a vehicle I expect bells and whistles. When you are at $60k many competitors out there with the tech. Really bummed. Thank you for the nice review.

Just turned 2k miles on my turbo premium plus. Overall, love the vehicle, but I have a growing list of issues I hope will be addressed: 1. Wireless charging never works, so hopefully a software update will eventually fix. When I place iPhone on it, it opens my apple wallet. Lol, maybe Mazda is looking for more money... 2. Rattles 🤬! Something annoying in console area I can't pin down yet (faint and high pitched), and something in the rear seats (maybe more). I see others with rear seat noise so I'll point that out to dealer. I do notice the rear seats vibrate (left to right) quite a bit when driving so not sure what that's all about? 3. Something not great in powertrain when starting slowly. Like a hesitation between 1st and 2nd gear. Does not do the same in sport mode (but can’t set sport mode as default). Good luck owners - Hope Mazda and dealers transparently address these issues.

Test drove one. Looks very good and feels luxury. However I wouldn’t buy one- felt slow when you try to gun it, noisy engine especially transitioning from electric to engine, and the complexity/cost of turbo when it fails. Watch the Car Nut guy about having to repair turbo and the accessibility.
