Amazing tutorial, very useful and well put together, But can you please add a note to your description that your 2D drawing looks different to the sample image because your example was drawn at 22.1mm high not 18mm as with the sample. I wondered why my drawing looked incorrect to yours until I rewound the video and saw that you placed the centre of your circles at the top of the 18mm line. This is not a criticism as its a simple mistake to make but should be pointed out so that others do not repeat.

@79jalo4 жыл бұрын
Very good tutorial! I have a comment though: Regarding placement of the ø 1.52/ø 2.4 circles. In the video they got their center line from the ø 8.2 circle. That gives a center circle distance of 4.1 units from the center line of the object. But in the drawing it should be 4.0 units.. (12-2-2)/2=4))
@siraj2153 жыл бұрын
Okay, I thought I was the only one that it didn't make sense to. It should have been just offset 2units from the outer side line because when you follow the video the dim value is 1.9 and not 2.
@danielj4363 жыл бұрын
He also started his first line as 18 units from the bottom to the center of the circle, but the 18 units dimension is the full height of the part, hence his part doesn't match the reference image. He should have subtracted 4.1 from 18 making the line 13.9 from the bottom to the center points of the circles.
@Itzix3 жыл бұрын
@@danielj436 No, the 18u line is from the most bottom to the center of the circles, he drow it correctly

I just moved into a position at my company where I need this. Thank you for making these! Only concern/question (thanks to my OCD) is you made the final drawing too tall based on the sample you showed. I know it's a simple fix, and I'm sure someone has already pointed this out, but regardless, this series is a BIG help, so thanks again!
@justsomeguy51033 жыл бұрын
it bothered me that he didn't mention it. I recreated the drawing, and it looks like the original uses 18 as the total height, while the video assumes 18 is the height from bottom to the centre of the circles.
@davepearson84764 ай бұрын
@@justsomeguy5103 Indeed. using 2-point circle here rather than centre point would have drawn it correctly.

You did an outstanding job. Video and language are very clear and precise. You covered a lot in a short amount of time. You must have done this a time or two. (kidding of course). I'm trying to brush up on my skills, I haven't worked with AutoCAD since I used AutoCAD 2006. Actions seem to be about the same. The program layout is totally different than Autocad 2006. This video was pretty much self-explanatory for me but the trim feature is simplified from the past and drawing the box using the tab key to enter 2nd point of box/rectangle. I love the time frame you provide on your videos under "see more" where you left additional comments. Click and it takes you to that section of the video. Makes it worth saving on come back to for reference for any issues someone may be having in learning AutoCAD.

The 18 unit dimension in the drawing from 12:37 onward is not clear in the video and the actual dimension is shown in the image, link of image in the description. The 18 unit distance is from the base of drawing to center of circle.
@Atommagi4 жыл бұрын
I think the 18 is from the base to the top of the circle. You can see the beginning of a tangent line there, the rest had faded. It would explain the difference you got.
@cedric49283 жыл бұрын
@@Atommagi you are correct, the placement of 18 of the line is not in the middle, which would be centred if it was from the midpoint of the circle it would also not make sense for one end of the dimension to have a arrow and not the other

Thank you so much, Sir. Your teaching is just get to the point and complete. I have a suggestion if you don't mind. The final drawing you have done is not same as the drawing in picture coz 18 unit is the end of the highest part of the circle but you drew as the center of the circle. Again, you are the best teacher in my mind, Sir. Please keep upload tutorials, Sir.
