Hi, great videos you make. I watched everything on your channel and subscribed, keep it up. I have a small request. Can you share this catalog for cable duct and ducting?
@acadp3dsolutionsАй бұрын
Hey there! I really appreciate your kind words!! If you're using Plant 3D 2024 or any version it's readily available in every Plant 3D installation folder, you can locate the Python script at this path: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2024\PLNT3D\ContentScripts\metadata\varmain. I haven't created any catalogs, but I did create a test component to demonstrate, how you can quickly make your own catalog in just a few minutes.

@@KarthiK-dc5xh It looks like you don't have the necessary permissions to overwrite that file. Try copying it to your desktop, making your changes there, and then replacing the original file. Don't forget to create a backup!

@@KarthiK-dc5xh The Rectangle Flange parametric isn't part of the content varmain. You'll need to create it using a custom AutoCAD block or by utilizing Python.

I've been working in Plant3d for a year and still can't map custom P&ID elements to a 3d model. I can insert a normal gate valve into the 3d model, but if the valve has a motor, it becomes inactive in the P&ID line list. Can you make a video on this?

Sure!!

I have uploaded the video on P&ID Object Mapping for Inline Instruments. Hope this helps!!

Is it possible to make a square duct pipe that can have it's size adjusted just like a normal round pipe? The square pipe i was able to create following the instruction in the video has a fixed length. I can't change it.
@acadp3dsolutions29 күн бұрын
Based on what I know, the answer is no. We have established the pipes under the fittings class, and there isn't an option for dynamic length. However, you can enter "Custom" in the component designation and adjust the length and other parameters directly in the drawing, as demonstrated in the video.
@Lucaslfm129 күн бұрын
@acadp3dsolutions Ok. I managed to change the length by changing custom property. But in the BOM the "QTY" is shown by the amount of trays I have, it doesn't count the length of tray. Can I change this? I Need the length of tray in my report, for buiyng the tray, not the amount of pieces.
@acadp3dsolutions29 күн бұрын
@@Lucaslfm1 Regrettably, we can't incorporate dynamic lengths for fittings class since they are calculated based on quantities. Additionally, dimension parameters aren't visible in the data manager. I did some research and attempted to create this in the Pipe class prior to making this video, but it didn't function as I had hoped.
@Lucaslfm128 күн бұрын
ok, thanks anyway. I guess the only way out of this would be to make the square pipe based on python script. There are also a few plugins for purchase on Autodesk store.

@@Lucaslfm1 In the description of my "Create Custom Supports" video, I included a link to a PDF handbook for Python scripting. You can see if you can create it by yourself, specifically for pipes.

@@gauravsonwane9509 For versions from 2021 and below, the path is C:\AutoCAD Plant 3D Content\CPak Common. For 2022 and later, you can find it at C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2022\PLNT3D\ContentScripts (unzipped). You won't find any readymade cable trays in Plant 3D. You'll need to create one yourself, just like it's demonstrated in the video.
