Love a refreshing video with Jack!! A great improvement from before so keep adding those witty jokes HAHAHA!! To add to your comment about the Calligraphy having a "jerky" drive. I believe it really boils down to how a DCT behaves. I am basing this opinion from my experience in driving my dad's Mini Cooper w/ a DCT transmission. I think it's really in the nature of a DCT being a "sporty transmission" or "supercar transmission" since that's where it started. It really hates being driven like a economy car and wants to be driven hard.

Proud owner of a santa fe caligraphy here. In all honesty, i dont understand where these "jerky" comments are coming from coz i have never experienced it. The 8 speed DCT drives very very smooth, plus the 281 hp engine gives it power for a "fun" drive. Though I agree with Jack's comment, i.e. a more one to one drive for the hybrid considering that for the DCT, you have to drive it in a "precise" manner, so as not to confuse the DCT. In short, don't confuse the transmission into shifting the wrong way. However, i find the ADAS very intrusive. I found myself in a tight parking spot when other cars started parking around me. The car wouldnt let me drive out of the tight spot and just kept on stopping me from reversing. Luckily, one of the vehicle drivers gave a bigger space for me to operate. It was quite an embarassing moment :)) Overall, id say the santa fe, wether the gas or the hybrid, is a master piece. Thanks for the great review and giving hyundai the spotlight it deserves. i'm also using a car with a DCT. those "jerky" comments mostly come from drivers who have been used to traditional AT. There's a power difference between the acceleration of DCTs and traditional ATs. Mostly, DCTs don't need to be stepped on hard to get the vehicle going immediately, whereas traditional ATs need a bit of pressure to get stuff moving. I've driven a DCT and Traditional AT on about 4 different cars already, DCTs have a bit more power, even if you haven't stepped on the gas.

As capable and efficient as that turbocharged powertrain is, I don't think the sound of a "1.6-liter inline-four" in a big SUV will sit well with some buyers as we see here, hence Hyundai PH not bringing it here for now. Who knows if the demand calls it, they might eventually add it to the lineup.

Cancelled my order for diesel staria after finding out phev which is the better alternative.. Or better yet wait a little bit. Buy ev. Only evs make sense Chinese will have better cheaper better tech longer warranty units. Why the chinese can do it and yet these established brands cant?

The resale value will be very low. As most people will be buying Evs or phev.Philippines is not very aware of the tech available. In china no one uses this. They have phev. This old hybrid is for those that are not very familiar with technology available. Hope it helps. Check out electric viking .

Wow 3.3 million(54,098 euro ) makabili ka na ng bagong Tesla nito or BMW 340i luxury sports car. Over pricing siya. not popular here in Europe. Economy wise not good. Only good that model the power or performance Space and advance tech But not necessarily for me. Practicality reliability quality economy I rather go to Lexus full hybrid ( 3.3 million), descent space and power If you want cheaper buy Toyota rav4 most popular here in Europe than Hyundai Santa Fe. Descent space and enough powers I think in Philippines less than 2 millions( rav4).
