Yung 120hp which looks like not enough but with 300Nm ( which is a lot kasi mas magaan to compared sa mga fortuners/montero since monocoque body siya) plus... mated with 9 speed automatic. So in short po, itest drive niyo muna to see for yourself. ( test drive the s diesel variant)

This CRV is really stunning I love this so much. My only concern is the removal of the gear lever, is that really reliable compared to having a physical gear lever... and the feel of having a gear lever and hand brake lever arghhh, its feels so wrong without them.

It's good that you mention that it is not all about HP or horses because Torque is as important considering the Philippines has flooding in most urban areas, uphill roads, and has one of the worst traffics in the world (which makes the extra HP useless).

My less than a month old CRV suddenly died while driving. The vehicle won't stop for about 10-20 seconds and there was total power failure (while driving!) Luckily, nothing was in front of me or else I would have ran over pedestrians or vehicles and I couldn't do anything about it. I learned about several cases similar to mine including a woman who got the top of the line CRV. Hers also just stopped (tumirik) and it was about a month old. Her case got aired in Tulfo's TV program. Great job, Honda!

my wife and i are planning to purchase a used car of this model and i came a cross with this issue, also heard about the same issue aired in tulfo with the woman experienced the same issue who bought the brand new top of the line.. Corgi23 Jumpman Personally I would go for the Montero. More power/torque is one of the top priority for me if I would buy an SUV for that price. Also spare parts would be more abundant and cheaper.

How's the cost of having the crv here in PH? Especially compared to Subaru Forester? Will the Honda be the more cheapest car to own in the long run?

Honda cars have very good fuel economy so that should go into your considerations for long term ownership. A Forester is cheaper and packs a lot of features even at the base trim level so value for money is big on the Forester, fuel economy isn't that bad either; not as good as the CR-V but definitely okay. In the end it comes down to which one you would enjoy driving. Test drive both and see for yourself.

The new 5th generation of crv comes with 7 seaters. It is not offered manual transmission. the 5th generation crv comes with diesel not as old crv.
