10:57 "Next thing people often get wrong is thinking they can do a bunch of stuff like holes in a block, drawing rectangle, circle, etc..." Next thing you do is putting a hole into the block in the same sketch.
@stefangottsche30924 жыл бұрын
You can, but only one thing at a time. You can't extrude, punch a hole and add a circle all from one sketch in one operation. That is probably what he wants to convey here. I got a little confused by this. You can't "but I drew it in that last sketch".

I have an interview this Friday and have never used inventor for drawing or modeling before, it shows that you're not a professional, but this is an excellent tutorial for beginners, thank you. To be fair to you, making actual 2D technical drawings should be a module in and of itself, because there is just too much to cover.

Your teacher is right, your teacher will not be there rest of your life to teach you everything, so you have to learn to learn things on your own!!!

@@99nouns unfortunately I was learning engineering design but they were all failed engineers. What's more, a teacher's job is to teach; luckily now youtube can teach most things but the whole point of having a teacher is to help one's understanding and maybe help understand how to learn things on your own (in the future).

I learned Auto Cad 2D and 3D 10 + years ago on my educational path (started a little over year 2000, that time there was no Inventor in our school system), than all the time I did not need and use any drawing programs. Now I need this again and before I see this video I did not understand nothing in Inventor. But after this video and knowledge of AutoCad, I do understand concept and that was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for this.

In Inventor, ALWAYS START at the centerpoint!
@lukemckinney41504 жыл бұрын
Why
@stefangottsche30924 жыл бұрын
@@lukemckinney4150 It makes your life so much easier, because the center point is automatically in your sketch and you can use it to ex. center the middle of a circle or a rectangle or some such and Inventor will recognise it as a point. When you don't, you'd need to lock the sketch object in place or define distances from the center point for it to be "fully constrained", which you want.

I wanted to use glow brush to give him flaming wings. I am using a Lenovo tab 4, 10". Finger drawing.

This is what I'd expect if the Verge did an Inventor Guide, sorry man there's bad practice all the way through. Always start constrained around the origin, put dims in as you're sketching, create a sketch per feature, don't use 2D fillets if a 3D one can be used, it's a fiilet not a fillay, I stopped there as it was embarrassing me.

Im coming into creo cad to auto desk. And i am confused by all these names whats the difference between autodesk autocad and autodesk inventor?
@omniac57835 жыл бұрын
Autodesk is the company that makes AutoCAD and Inventor. AutoCAD is typically 2D (though there are some 3D features now iirc) and used for architecture and MEP stuff. Inventor is used to create mechanical parts for machining and assembly. Think of it like this: AutoCAD: Make buildings and show electrical systems, piping, etc. Inventor: Make things like engines and other mechanical systems
