omg I can't belive I only just found out about the normalize button- THANK YOU!! I wondered why all my lights needed insanely high values to be seen haha

Spent 20 minutes trying to figure out where the area light was, thanks for reminding me that I have to go to the arnold tab

Thank you for the easy to follow process and easy to understand explanations. Much less confusing than my current Animation tutor. My models look so much better now. :)

Love the VIDEO, Helped me out a lot. Going to school for 3D and looking at becoming a Modeler. We have not done any lighting or rendering yet. So THANKS.....

It will be helpful for me if you upload more of maya tutorials...like texturing, rigging and more professional lighting setup for background models...anyways this video is quite good to learn something ❤❤️

I added a concretey (yes, I made that word up 😁) texture to the background, and it made all the difference. I also like your idea of changing the temps of the side lights.

How did you access the edge? I was a bit confused there and would like it if a bit more detail was used for the newer folks such as I 😭

incase you havent got it yet, if you hold right click whilst an object is selected a menu will come up along with a few more buttons, click the "edge" button and you'll go into edge selection mode, from here you can also access, "face", "vertex" and "object" mode, theres a lot more useful stuff here as well, but thats your main stuff to start with

This is a great tutorial, I have a terrible memory so every time I need to setup a render I watch it. Do you post your renders anywhere?

so nice but i wanna give some advice to improve your work flow so insted of change value of light and go back to render just stack the render view some where it will help you to work fast .thank u

you should state that you are using Arnold lights and not ordinary lights. other than that, its good :)
