I love those bumpers! They give the iconic Benz a classy distinguished look. The Euro bumpers make the car too small and without enough chrome to enhance the car’s esthetic body lines. The added chrome accentuates the fancy distinguishing lighting, both tail and headlights. I have a 1987 MB 560SL that’s built with an original light mint green color that turns heads everywhere I go. It’s good to know that the public is now still appreciating the iconic nature of this treasure piece in time.

Always a joy to see the genesis of where we're at. Here's a fine 18 minute piece on an R107 from 2019. Cue up the 2022 piece, the 738th R107 video, and it is 58 minutes. Gotta add in 20 minutes to bitch about the weather, and another 20 for Dalton!

In my opinion, the "American" bumpers don't really bother me either. It was just the time period, and it doesn't look that bad compare to other cars with the big bumpers.

that 560 i was probably scammed into a chain but did replace it at around 150k clock. propelled my ass for 11 years in ultimate luxury and miss it - oh yeah it was a 560SEL year 1989 panzer for the street. That V8 was a monster for torque. when you asked for power it would wake up and deliver from the depths of its bowels and deliver the hammers of hell.

Good and legit points, Europa. My research since my comment showed average of 20k with that mileage ... so maybe another 8k would be worth a mint untouched example to the right collector ... no offense meant. Too much for me because of what I'm looking for in the same price range, but as a collectible, maybe not.

wow ... Blast from the past! I remember when this car first came out. A beautiful German car disfigured by the stupid American 5mph bumpers. Someone please come up with a custom product to delete those hideous things!

Those oversized bumpers and owl like headlights spoil the pure design of this car in the US. The R129 that replaced this model was far better in so many ways.
