Barn find BMW M3 transformation by Auto Finesse

When we get a call on an M car that's been sitting around you don't need to ask us twice if we want to have a bash at bringing it back to life. So here it is quite possibly one of the best examples of the BMW e46 M3 in the UK - well now at least.

I fully agree with your point about coatings vs. wax. Coatings tend to look glassy, if that makes sense, but carnauba wax just lends a warmer glow that ceramics have a hard time matching. The glossiest coatings I've tried are Modesta BC08 & the really famous CSL/ExoV4 combo. Sure, in terms of durability & hydrophobicity, coatings are the best, but there's just something about a good quality wax that makes the paint really pop.

I had two 2006 M3's both with 6 speed manual. I bought an Imola Red car and was pulled over three time in a month and half of owning it. Paid some more dough and received a Carbon Black Metallic car with black interior. I saw this car and it brought back memories. I sold mine with 21K miles in 2010. The last of the E43 BMW. Outstanding detail job!

I like seeing people still using rotary and it really depends on your preference, with what tool you are confident, etc. I recently picked a rotary , didn't do my work on DA and was thinking that this wasn't the ideal choice (having in mind that I'm an amateur and still learning even though that maybe the DA would be easier to start with) but in the end it takes practice and time to master any kind of tool. And thank you for the video, very interesting and informative. Keep up the good work guys!

This is almost the exact spec as mine, but I knew better than to get a carbon black one. I got steel gray on red interior and luv it. The only thing is now is the owner will probably lock it away and not drive it because it is so nice , but hopefully Im wrong. One of the best driving cars , ever.

Thank you, at the end of the day we do our bit, its up to the owner what they do with their car from there onwards. We always try to advise on the correct maintenance procedure etc, but ultimately, its up to them. I believe it went in to a garage after tho as we help on to the car a few weeks until there was a space available.

Wow! This is the real definition of detail. I haven't seen any where do a perfect detail like this. My E90 is in desire need of a major paint correction. The sun and elements here in Hawaii really take a toll on our paint jobs. That M3 is my favorite color on the e46 and the red leather is just fantastic. I have a 06 e46 with 27k on it and it looks like glass with the ceramic coating. I’d love to find a crew that wants to take it on for showing off product on YT. Car is in Reno, NV and probably one of the best specimens around. Needs a good dismantling detail/refurb.
