You know that the car is good when the main gripes are missing stickers and visibly cup holders for the back seat. The cover in the boot is designed to be able to be folded and put away. The floor is designed to be able to adjust the height of the floor between two heights. The media unit is much better than most cars in this price point as is, but one of the main selling points for it is the wireless android auto and apple carplay. The car being dark in a dark setting is a pretty strange gripe as its only an issue with the panorama roof since the regular roof has a regular rooflight. The transmission needs to be clarified, it is a E-CVT and not a regular CVT, it is much quieter and much more reliable than regular CVTs. The reason the front seats shoulders are higher than other cars is due to the built-in airbags in the from chairs, this is a 5 star NCAP car. The middle consoles main function is to be able to fit tall objects through the back seats, it is not supposed to be a family car for kids. This is a reliable and very utilitarian and cheap entry to the Toyota hybrids, it is a b-segment SUV so comparing it to regular SUVs is very unfair. The only justifiable gripe with this car I have is the AWD-i system being extremely lackluster and the missing USB in the backseat, but then again, we got 12v in the boot instead.

With the window buttons I think it’s meant to be one of those muscle memory things. In theory the driver should never be diverting their view to look at window buttons, and they’re laid out according to the window quadrants. When I think about it I couldn’t tell you the last time I actually looked at my window buttons except when cleaning the car. You just reach for them, ergo, they don’t all need to be labelled.

oh absolutely, its obvious muscle memory of course and the label is not needed to identify the button. BUT its clearly a cost saving measure, save 5 cents on this, and do that 20x throughout the car and then multiply it by Toyota's scale of operation and it adds up to alot of money

Appreciate the attention to detail and truth telling. Toyota gets a lot of great press and a lot of their cheapness gets overlooked by other reviewers.

thankyou! appreciate the feedback. I feel that cars deserve critique just as much as praise. Both need to be pointed out

Tihs review is full of personal opinions, which is fine I guess. But in my country Croatia we have a saying “personal opinion is like a butt hole. Nothing special about it. We all have one.”
@autogefuel8 күн бұрын
just reading a specsheet isnt very interesting either of course so i try to make a mix of positives and negatives, but there is no way around that those are obviously personally inspired. But then again, when i sit in the back and i dont fit, thats my opinion, cause if a smaller person does the same thing then there is a different outcome.

ha! thats my job of course. some more valid than others of course and the overall car is pretty good. BUT i feel its important to also point out "flaws"

Cool car love the design style. I dont think we're getting this in the US but I'd be more concerned with safety. Like how it handles and brakes. Is there any blind spots turning . Do the side mirrors fold in? Is there a back up camera? Hows the turning radius? What size wheels/tires are these 16, 17 or 18 Are there airbags? I noticed the steering wheel didnt look like it did or the dash? You didnt mention the audio or sound. Do the windows roll all the way down in the rear door or quarter way? Does the pano roof open or is it fixed? Did I miss where you explored the engine bay? Is this a 4cyl or 3cyl turbo ? Any lane assist or blind spot monitoring features. Aside from that this is an interesting car. In the US the Yaris was entry level at 1.5l but that 40k price point is quite high unless this comes with a 4wd option. I agree it's not much room for adults in the rear but design wise if this was a 3dr design it wouldn't sell as many units. Having the wagon style offers more potential for storage and transport option also its typically cheaper for insurance as 2drs are considered sporty or sports car classification. Would have loved to see the seats in the back fold down and see storage function potential with groceries like real world scenario

In Poland, Style, 130 km, 4x4 costing more than I have paid for my Golf Alltrack 4motion, 2.0 TDI 184 KM in 2018. This is insane. Boot cover - this can not be truth. Honest review.

6-7 years of inflation, global supply chain issues, energy crisis, war etc. This car has a hybrid drivetrain more complex and advanced that TDI. More efficient, cleaner, better economy, likely more advanced driver systems and features. Boot cover is an issue why? Unless you plan to carry lots of items on the parcel shelf and obscure your view out of the rear window.

@@stephenwakeman3074 You made my day with "advanced Yaris 4x4 hybrid drivetrain complex system". This is not Land Cruiser. Are You AI? Toyota PR in action?

Have a 2023 Premiere Edition. A very good vehicle but suffering from a problematic 12vt battery in some European countries. .(battery from Turkey). Toyota needs to use something better.

That's isofix covers are designed to be lost aspend cash in dealers 😕👍 11sec is slower then mine 02' LWB over 2T in weight Pajero do..its disastrously slow😕 and skiing on lighs in buttons and low quality plastics is total let down 😕 but it will cost toyota extra 20cznts to put lighting switches instead of black plastic switches..😕
@autogefuel9 күн бұрын
yeah thats the thing, they save money in with little things, but on toyota's scale it all adds up
