Surfex HD for me every time. It's about as close as you can get to a one-size-fits-all solution. Vary the mix ratio accordingly and you've got an incredibly versatile product. Degreaser, tfr, wheels & tyres, it'll even clean oil off your driveway if you're stupid enough to spill it 😁. Great stuff👍👍.

Both excellent products luke but rebound wins specifically for cleaning tyres for me. I bought 5.5L of the stuff well over a year ago & still using the 500ml bottle. Maybe got about 200ml left in it. As it's a thick gel I only apply two sprays per tyre, spread around with the tyre brush, allow to dwell a min or so then scrub. As surfex is a thinner liquid you need to spray more of it on there, maybe 5-6 sprays. Surfex will always be cheaper but I just like the effectiveness of rebound plus with me having coated wheels I like that I can keep the tyre cleaner off the alloy for the most part with rebound due to it's thicker consistency & application method.

I’ve used four different products to test on tyre cleaning today, not worked out what my winner is yet but the new undress from YUM did well and looked similar to use as rebound, I also lean towards a multi purpose product for tyres though 👍🏼

I've just grabbed another 3 dedicated tyre products to try out against surfex. Not got the Yum car one, so ill have a look and maybe add that to the collection too

Never used Bilt Hamber but I've used APC and Prewash previously and found good results. Currently using Sam's Detailing as I have a sample and find high foaming action and potency speeds things up a little but same result and costs becomes the overiding factor when looking at doing any great volume. At the moment I reach for it but not sure I'd buy again in a hurry. Great comparison though Team TBD 👍

I've used ag and duels tyre cleaner. Used to always use surfex but not anymore, these tyre cleaners are awesome and only need 2 - 3 squirt per tyre

I've reached for the rebound since filming (it is enjoyable to use), even though I've plenty of surfex to hand, and we have a couple of other tyre cleaners to try out in the coming weeks but at a 1:1 ratio surfex is never gonna be beaten on price by these dedicated cleaners. Rebound is £40 for 5ltr and surfex is less than half the price and still very effective when diluted down to 1:1. So even 2-3 sprays per tyre doesn't bring the cost effectiveness of rebound down compared to 6-9 sprays of surfex.

I find that if I've dunked the brush in to my wheel bucket and given it a shake before using then the surfex seems to foam up better, which is probably the shampoo left on the brush. To try and get some better foam from it in future use I've added 2ml of autowash.

@@adamdavis2788 I've not tried the AG foam personally, what I've done now is added a tiny touch of autowash to my surfex to see if I can get it to foam up a bit better.

I have always used Surfex HD for most things and its been great, however, since using rebound for the tyres I'm afraid its a keeper. It does my tyres in one hit unlike Surfex. Both great products though.

i use serfex hd as prewash first and as tyre undress...it just make life easier than buying diffrent products plus if you buy it in bulk its cheaper in long run 👍

😮 It's got to be about cost for me... I use Surfex HD at 9:1 and it still cleans my tyres just fine.... Granted they're done fortnightly at the latest and I have to go over them twice (plus a 3rd hit for luck!) but its only a couple of minutes so to do all 4 tyres I'm using well under 20ml of product - that's less than 7p!!! I could justify paying a little extra for dedicated products but for an extra few minutes work, the cost difference (for me personally) is too significant to overlook. Very interesting video though!! 👍🏼👍🏼

Before I was using surfex at 1:1 (or neat if I was being lazy) I was using it 10:1 and it just wasn't working that well for me, which is why I was using Adams as it was doing the job in 1 hit. Maybe the difference between 10:1 and 9:1 was the slight difference it needed!

Not tried ag rebound. Found adams polishes tire and rubber cleaner does a great job. Just costs a lot more. May need to look at ag instead.

Adams was originally my goto product for tyres, and this was due to being told by Bilt Hamber to use surfex at 10:1 for tyres. Then I watched Hotchkiss performance video where he used surfex neat (as advised by BH) vs Adams and surfex killed it, especially pound for pound

I've a pal who swears by AS smart wheels as a tyre cleaner, I've not tried it myself though so maybe one to bear in mind

@@Michael-wx4fj Smart wheels can be diluted up to 5:1 but AS have another wheel cleaner that can be diluted up to 7:1 but i haven't tried it yet nor can i mind what its called. I find APC is good but only if you can get it foamy as some foam better than others. Keep up the great work and stay safe🌈

Great video, mate. I used to always use Surfex HD to clean tyres until I used AG Rebound. I much prefer it for a dedicated tyre cleaner. I love the foaming action and it certainly deep cleans the tyres. Surfex is still great, though!

When we recorded this I was very much a surfex for tyres guy, and even after seeing the results I wasn't sold on rebound particularly, but guess which I grabbed next time I was cleaning the car, Rebound! and I think it was the foaming that I liked. I've now added 2ml of auto wash to my bottle of surfex to see if I can replicate the foaming
