AutoGlym Headlight Restoration Kit.. Does it work?

SO we have the purple headlights which are very cool.. but the lenses on them both were terrible. Now; you can easily buy what you need separately, but for ease of use i just went with the Autoglym kit.
The kit did work.. but i would definitely recommend using a cord drill and NOT a cordless haha.

Good job Lee I did this once. Clean the light then sand lightly with a bit of 2500 sandpaper then clean, it should be cloudy and look worse than before lol 😂 and then get some G3 cutting compound and polish at least 2 times then the light should be crystal clear and good as new

BEST fix for lights and this works on any. sand them with wet and dry until smooth and then laquer and polish will look like new

Gunk Degreaser in a trigger bottle will get all that baked on polish off your plastics mate. Happened to mine.

Looks good Lee. I just did this to my Clio 172 Sport during the week. Bought 1200, 2000, and 3000 Wet and Dry, and used some old Cutting Polish I had in the Garage. It came out pretty good, though I think your's looked marginally better.

Lee, you might want to get some UV protectant on those headlights, i think if you leave them like that the plastic quickly perishes as you've effectively removed what protective layer was there before.

Always have a tube of exhaust paste... works wonders when fitting up pipes after theyve been removed. Even new gaskets can leak on old exhausts

Them purple headlights look smart cleaned up lad. There a nice touch getting them, suit your car. Love the Astras popping up in your vids hah you can't shake them off. Been watching back since you had your purple astra. Top vids Lee always something goin on.

Halfords rubbing compound does it too [ yellow tube ]. It's hard work tho' be warned. MUST USE WATER when rubbing if you don't you're screwed. Save you hundreds if you put in. TAPE SURROUNDING AREA WELL. Got me out of an MOT fail for years.

itsLeeLockwood its a pain the phantom misfire currently got it on my bugeye wrx. I spoke to scooby world yesterday they thought it could be the neutral position switch like yours. They said to me try the exhaust system and look at the turbo inlet pipe if it standard they are prone to cracking and causeing phantom misfires.

dont these polishing kits only last a year or so and then you goto re do them? most do, also you can do it differently you could have clear coated (UV protection clear coat), thats what i did on my old megane i sanded wet and dry 800 until there was no difference in color/shades when i wet them and all the old uv protection was gone, then i went too 1500, 2000, 3000 and 4000 wet and dry once they was all smooth i sprayed clear coat on them it restores them and you dont have to re do every couple of year its basically what these headlight restorers do that charge you around £100 or more dependant on where you live only cost me like £15 for the clear coat give it a try next time for a long term fix :) to be fair the polishing kit you used did make them look alot cleaner though :)

There's no better solution to yellow/faded head lights than sanding an re spraying with uv clear coat all other remidies are a temporary fix that'll last weeks if your lucky months.

Googs 1 i think that works the same. Polish has fine pieces of grit, so it takes a layer of the protective coating back. Toothpaste has small bits of grit similar to polish. But for your teeth haha
