I just came across your video. It was very informative. I have only been autoharping for a few years. I just occasionally pick it up and start strumming. I decided to check out internet info and your video really helped me understand at least the theory of how I can progress past my experimental strumming. Much appreciated.

Can you suggest books or sources that include the melody chords?

Hal, I have my autoharp now but have become overwhelmed by the number of chord bar configurations. I'm learning to play a right-handed 21-chord OS flat on my lap, as I am left-handed (as mentioned earlier). We will be playing hymns, traditional celtic and ancient/medieval music, thus Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian and possibly Aeolian (folk and classical) modes. Which chord bar configuration(s) do you recommend for standard/default OS 21-chord bars for playing these types of music? We have no plans to play jazz, blues or pop.

The Bryan Bowers layout. You have to change out the Cmin Abmaj and Bbsev and make them Bmin F#min and Emaj. You can look that up elsewhere in the interest of getting the "short answer".

Hal, in one of your other videos with "Ode To Joy" you mention a book by Bill Schilling. Is the Dulci-more Public Domaine Songbook Autoharp Volumn (with Autoharp Melody Cord Numbers 2002 revision?

Hi Eastern Cowboy....I came on here to answer your question about the B note, and now can't find it...did you remove?? Anyway, about the layout question....it doesn't really matter....what you are used to is what is best. Do you have a 21 bar, a 15 bar, a 12 bar? With a 21 bar, I recommend the "Bryan Bowers" layout (google it) but there are other ones that are good too. With the 15 and 12 bars, I recommend you leave as is. By the way, thanks for commenting so often...it helps me because the videos/channels with lots of comments do well on YT. Thanks again.
