Hey Jeff, how come your EX trim on Sportage has a gauge cluster that looks like the one from the top trim? It looks like the 12.3' gauge cluster instead of the 12.2' one that comes standard on EX trim.

@@bhusahn All the trims will have that set up. Only difference is the higher trims has that blindspot camera in the dash.

@@jraheemjefcoat429 thanks for the reply. The 12.2' instrument cluster has a different default set up (numbers for speed and rpm instead of digital dial). Just wanted to know if the ex default set up is customizable to a digital gauge with speed and rpm dial.

There is an available OEM front skidplate designed to avoid damage from raised parking barriers. It is quarter-inch thick powder-coated steel. Dealer installed or DIY.

I've watched 7 different videos on the Sportage hybrid and went to the dealer and nobody else mentioned the Center Locking Differential OR that you can turn on the seats with voice control! That's things that are selling points that nobody else is talking about!

I have a problem, I want the interior blue and white color (looks white to me), but I want their highest trim the SX Prestige (with the 360 camera, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, headed back seats, extra safety features, fog lights and the AWD). But the interior color only comes with black and that orange color. If I had it customized, would they let me get the hybrid SX prestige with blue/white interior or would I have to get the EX?

Thanks for a great and in-depth review Jeff. I have the same Hybrid EX but I do not have the Premium package. My gages do not change when toggling through the drive modes, and I am wondering why yours go to analog. I would like to alter between the two as yours does, but mine only change the outer color trim ring for snow, sport, eco and smart. Thoughts?

Not sure if you’ e figured this out but it’s in your settings where you can preference how you want the cluster to look when switching between modes. I believe it has 3-4 options on how it’s displayed

I found it to be very very smooth and the seats were incredibly comfortable. Wind, road, and engine noise were minimal. LOVED the multimedia and the mpg! Good luck with yours...you'll love it! Jeff

If you get the EX trim level with a package, then yes.

is that a US spec sportage hybrid? Everything you showed looked as expected for an EX hybrid with premium package EXCEPT the instrument cluster. According to Kia website and all other videos I’ve seen, the EX comes with the lower level instrument cluster that has a more simple lcd speed and digital tach with a smaller screen inthe middle. What you showed should only be on the SX Prestige version. Thanks.

The EX Premium Package is something like a MID tier instrument cluster. Both screens are 12.5 inch(I think) rather than the left screen being about 11(Default EX). Right screen 360 camera is not on this model (SX Prestige only). Left screen on the EX does not change graphics to match the outside weather or include Blindspot cameras when you're changing lanes.

One thing I hate about the other cars is that they have such a plain interior. The screen looks like a kids tablet placed on the dashboard. The Kia on the other hand is so streamlined with their design it really looks like a luxury car

this is a very nice SUV all around in and out... I only wonder about long ownership reliability though, on a Toyota is expensive to maintain Hybride. Knowing that Toyota is low on maintenance is kind of encouraging. but KIA. not sure how it will holdup overtime ?! still too early for my next car. that's why I buy used. I will be looking for Sedan AWD first on my list of choices. SUV is at second.

Yes, buy the ex premium version. I bought the standard ex, because I've had sunroof drain issues with Honda before.

Only the top trim comes with adaptive cruise control which is a bummer. Therefore I went with the Rav4.

Sportage wins on all fronts until you look under the hood. The smaller engine has to work harder. The blower has a higher failure rate. The mpg is reduced.almost everyone uses the 2.5L naturally aspirated engine. Why did Kia ruin an almost perfect setup? It is my favorite except for under the hood.

The RAV4 is still king. Sure the Sportage is newest with new tech, but I want to stay away from any Kia and Hyundai because of their record of engine recalls and fires on the engine
