What a blast from the past!!!! I loved watching this show with my sister back in the 80's! My fav part of Automan was when he turned 90deg and Walter(desi arnez Jr) would hit the window and smash his face against the glass *lol*. Automan was a lot like "TRON" in many ways. Cursor was one of them :)

this show DESERVES a modern day remake, probably by James Cameron too. seriously, you couldnt get a better series than Automan, he was perfect, had great abilities, and had a great Origin too. sad that it could not make it past the 1st season :(

Loved this show back in the day, I mean, it was a Tron mimic, of course. but I didn't care at the time. I was a kid then, and dude had a bad electric suit, and digital thingies. How, or moreover, why, would a kid ask for more?

Automan was a great show, the only issues were as follows: They spent millions of dollars on this show and went too fast to develop the concept and they were given the 8/7 Central Time Slot on abc opposite Magnum, P.I. on CBS which was THE #1 show on Thursday Nights and you couldn't compete with Magnum, P.I.

Clearly Disney's Tron (1982) inspired this, especially the look of Automan himself. And "Cursor" is just a smaller and silent version of the "Bit" in Tron.

I only remember this because it makes me think of a second-rate Tron. Even 'cursor' is a thinly veiled version of 'Bit'... who likey cleavage. The key difference is that Tron is about a human drawn into the computer, and with Automan it is the opposite.

jaaa kann mich echt kaum daran erinnern!! aber ich weiss als animated serie gabs mal eine wo sich auch nen typ in eine rote sportkarre verwandeln konnte. ach wenn heute damals wär würde ich den ganzen scheiss sammeln!! heute sind die serien einfach zu 80% tot. muss man echt altes zeugs ausgraben. gut gibts manche netzseiten. und aktuelle serien haben nicht mal mehr anständige intros. ey thunder in paradise, flash - der rote blitz (die echte serie nicht den teenie mist von heute) und der man aus atlantis (wohl der echte aquaman) wie auch time trax usw hatten auch nur 1 staffel! halt kitsch schrott der aber heute umso geiler ist. es gab sogar mal was ende 80er, da haben sich auch rangers gegen mutanten geprügelt, aber hab mich nie geachtet wie die hiess (tat man damals in ganz jungen jahren einfach nicht :(). danach kamen sogar erst die power rangers!! (dachte damals erst, das wäre mal wieder das, war aber dann was anderes/neues. hätte echt gern gewusst wie das zeugs hiess. das japanische zeugs hab ich alles schon durchgegoogelt - ultraman usw wars nicht. es gab ja auch masked rider quasi ein spin off zu den rangers. fall du das zeugs kennst)
