Thanks for this nice design, I am not sure about calculation of pulley ratio. Could you give the exact pitch of screw and number of teeth pulleys. Or can you give a formula involving pitch, diameter of drum and pulley ratio

Thanks! To make the screw I believe I just did two swept cuts. I made two helix curves (using the helix tool) and swept two square profiles

Hi...great design Few queries.. I couldn't understand how cable gets wrapped around the bigger drum... And what does that encoder do at the knurled wheel location?

It looks like only one drum... the larger roll of cable is just to show how large it can get. The encoder feeds back data on how much linear length of cable has passed, by converting revolutions of the wheel x circumference of the wheel.

With a self reversing screw the transition should naturally be smooth at the ends
