How do you get to the menu to open the door angle as wide as you have it?

You have to take out the batteries and ‘restart’ it. As if you were turning it on for the first time.

And what about negative temperatures? Will it work?

Time will tell. One thing I can tell you is that the batteries included with the door are of much higher quality than typical AA batteries you'll use for other general purposes. As a hunter with trail cameras, it's a similar situation. My trail cam batteries are the similar to the coop door batteries. They're meant to last longer and function in colder temps. Until I use this door in the upcoming winter, I cannot say for certain that it will work all winter long in negative temperatures. Thanks for watching.
