Very nice! Those seemingly solid platforms really keep the mice from becoming skittish. So far, the best of the best go to: 1) Electric shocker dome. 2) Automated trigger-sensing treadmill. 3) Automated trigger-sensing rolling log. I like the shocker dome due no moving parts to break or spook the mouse/rat. The shocker dome is also immune to critter size differences when built to rat dimensions.

Depending on where you are in the world some may still very active while others are in decline or close down. The ones in decline are known as “Dead malls”. 1:55 - The vast majority of "motion sensors" aren't actually _motion_ sensors, they're differential temperature sensors. In other words, they'll detect if something hot appears in front of a colder background (or vice versa), so they would work fine with a conveyor belt. Also, it's trivial to program the controller so that "after activating the motor, wait 10 seconds before checking the sensor again", so any type of sensor could work, really. Given the "tunnel" design, the most reliable type here would probably be a break beam sensor. From an electronic point of view, these things are really easy to design and program. It's much harder to design and build a fully automated mousetrap that doesn't rely on motors and sensors, and does it job using just gravity and finely-balanced mechanisms.
@axelhucht51944 жыл бұрын
"so they would work fine with a conveyor belt" Certain PIR motion sensors do not work reliably even when exposed to some airflow or vibration. Schawn had his bad experiences with this and showed it in a video (see video at second 52): kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5etfJd7gZ6LhMk

Personally I don't care if you have sponsors. That's your business. As long as I feel your being completely legit open and honest with your evaluations. And I feel your 100% onboard . I enjoy watching your channel and videos of you, all your traps and learning history and seeing new technology for tomorrow at the same time. So thank you. May you and your family stay safe and healthy.

Great trap Axel !! This trap is a pure winner !!!! I would buy it in a second just for the amusement alone.

Do you have any idea when Axel will make his traps available for purchase. I would love to buy both the electric roller and conveyer traps
@axelhucht51944 жыл бұрын
The conveyer belt trap is a pure fun project to optimize the electronic sensor that I have developed and is not for sale.

@@axelhucht5194 Since your not interested in selling , the conveyor and roller traps are the kind of thing Make Magazine subscribers would love to build themselves. Any plans to put up the designs on Instructables or Thingiverse?

WOW !!!! I am soooo GLAD you take the mice out for the wild life, WAY Soooooo KOOL, I was hoping to see a Owl or a Hawk still ok. Maybe next time. I notice the mice never got the bait

I really love those multiple catch self resetting traps. It is very entertaining to watch those greedy rodents getting caught. I would like to see more rats meet their demise but traps for them really have to be clever. Good job on your videos sir. 👍👍👍

This was amazing and Axel is quite the master with building traps. I admit I was giggling every time a mouse went flying out but at least the wildlife enjoyed a mouse snack. Thank you!!!

That mouse trap is a nice pieces of engineering. Thanks for the demo. I liked the spinning drum mouse trap too. Great ideas!
