It works the same for bigger ships, you just need to size everything up.

You might have linked the thrusters to the wrong timers or linked them to the switch. Make sure the thruster for a segment of the ship activates AFTER the butter for that part disconnects the segment. You might have also forgotten to link the butter to the timer. Try observing it when you switch the lever with everything at transparency 0 to help figure out what went wrong. It's very complicated and easy to mess up, so I'm not surprised at all that you made a mistake.

Yea but you will need a lot of materials since you have to make 2 copies of the ship and you need enough blocks to weigh it down.
