Have just got ms-20 mini and these movies are the best way to learn your way around these amazing instruments. Fantastic work man! Highly valued!

I too have just got hold of the iPad MS-20 app and have been struggling with the patch panel (despite having a stack of home made modules which are all patched). The way the Korg is neither fully modular nor fully hard wired, along with simple stubornness (such as calling the LFO a different name) all conspire to make it pretty confusing. So thank you for shedding some light and letting me at least start to learn how this rather amazing little app works.

I really appreciate your rundown of the many functions on the ms-20! I’m now gonna go fiddle with the synth now!

Great video. Helped me out with my iMS-20 iPad app. I understand and like modular synth cable patching abilities, but it's great to have a tutorial on the I/O functionality to have a starting point for your own patches. Thanks a bunch!

You can use the amp from the ESP to attenuate the noise, keeping the wheel free.
@AxisChemicals Жыл бұрын
Use the esp to control the volume AND match the timbre (lpf/hpf) of pink/white noise will free your modwheel for other purpose and dial with the nicest noise, just learned that from another video but I'm pretty sure you know it already ! Thanks 4 all your videos they are great

Thanks for these. It's a complicated synth to figure out deprived of a manual.

@AutomaticGainsay I did find one with no specifics on patching though. Either way, seeing it hands on is helpful, keep up the vids!

Seeing how pro this guy sounds running thru all the patches makes me want to buy iMS and learn it. I watched all six videos on ms 20 and it sounds like fun. I owned a radio shack 'moog' a year ago but sold it for rent. I used it to learn basic subtractive synth. I was always wanting more with it as it was pretty limited. I was wondering how the iPad ms goes about using the external patch filter. Looks like the third jack top row. I wonder if there is a way to use it on the iPad or did they repl

Hi Marc ..Thanks ..no arguement from me..lol...I should clarify by saying as partial trade....Maybe you will do a performance video sometime ..to see you perform an original would ba a treat. on whatever synth or instrument you choose.

You never did a CS-50 demo, that would have been awesome

all that patching to control the noise source is kind of hilarious.

I guess the only competition now days would be the Mini XL...I would consider the MS-20 in trade for my harpsichord...should you or anyone be interested..

Since you seem to enjoy semi-modular synths so much, why not fully modular ones?
@Hyper5nic13 жыл бұрын
Most excellent! ;-) Will you be uploading new video's on analog (semi-modular) synths anytime soon?

Odd question... The mod wheel on the MS20&mini... It's OUTPUT is internally hardwired to the VCA's input correct?(EDIT actually now thinking about it, more than likely it's not that simple since the Mod wheel's output is probably internally patched to just about everything) With the plug on the patchbay being a simple mono input. The reason I ask is because Behringer dropped it completely from their clone the K2... thought they kept the momentary button. If I were to add say a simple photoresistor with both an input and output patch... Would that serve as a makeshift modulation wheel? Since I could route it's output to the VCA's external input...

can't imagine how was the low quality video XD
@automaticgainsay4 жыл бұрын
You mean “high,” and you can’t imagine it because you’re probably 13, and don’t know that at varying points in KZbin’s history, it had stringent size and length limitations.
@stephenstrang5903 жыл бұрын
HQ?
@automaticgainsay3 жыл бұрын
Well, you see, back when the original video was originally created and posted, there were severe limits on video size and length. It was a long time ago. When this version of this video was uploaded, those limitations had loosened, allowing the video to be uploaded in its original size. This video was uploaded a decade ago. The "HQ" was a means of distinguishing this video from its smaller preceding video.

I’m SO sorry! I’m also certain that you’re too young to know what KZbin was like when this video was released. Lastly, I’m sorry that you’re incapable of learning from something that can’t be splashed on a 4K screen.
