You could ask the builders to put a 8 by 4 sheets up to stop the dust smoke if any. The concrete blocks being cut make a fire or burning smell. This could be putting the hen off sitting on the eggs

Folks. You will notice that the drinker in the male bird’s cage that I show has a sprinkling of bedding on the surface. Rest assured, his drinker was replaced immediately after that sequence had been shot. I check the bird’s drinkers multiple times during the day so this must have happened just before I filmed.

Border Canaries are already tough to breed and then you have all that noise. Crikey. Those vibrations from the wacker plate are the worst. Birds hate vibrations. Amazed you have those 2 chicks with all that.. Cracking looking youngens. Love those Bearded Reedlings - fantastic birds. I had a long chat to a breeder at Stafford who swears by the verselaga Nutri Bird Pellets and Insect Pate. I would personally stay away from the cheese for addition protein (suggest protein supplement from Sam1). Good luck Andy.

You’re absolutely right there Victor!! The vibrations were awful - the floor was shaking quite badly at some points and I agree have]ing 2 chicks is quite an achievement after everything this year!! Yeah, I really enjoy the Reedlings they’re great fun to watch!!

Enjoyed the episode, you would think that the builders would /could do their cuts away from the back of the bird shed as they are using a petrol saw! Hopefully you will get a few more hens to sit tight and rear, I find using millet sprays a good seed, as there is no waste, especially when you are away on holiday, the Bearded Reedlings set-up looks great 🤞👍, all the best with them Andy. 😎. Hiya Mark. Yeah I had a real moan at them this week and caught up with my neighbour yesterday and told him. He was furious because he told them I had birds and told them to cut at the far end of his garden!! I’ve got some millet spray - might try that 👍👍

My 14 year old sun has to fife hens that keep building a nest then pull it apart i took the nesting material away and set the eggs on the nest felt they both hatched and reared there chicks fine may be worth a try.
