A small tip that I do on my world is I use a sewer sort of water system. I dig a 4 deep trench and then stack platforms and use them as my roads to not take up any more space I need for my crops. Also might be worth replacing the small wheels with big ones. I believe you will generate more power! Also good to know is that Golems last 70 days or at least all of mine do and I haven't noticed any different durability lengths depending on the jobs. :)

@ImKibitz Me looking at the tooltips and reading the units while listening to your distressed calls and interrogations: "the answers are right in front of you if you,d only take a second to read them!" Units for the Waterwheels is HorsePower/CubicMeterperSecond. Units for the Gravity Battery is HorsePowerHour. You need only one golem parts factory fro every type of part since they produce at different rates and one will make four arms in the same time another will make one torso or head. You need only three golem parts factory for every two golem assemblers as they make parts that much faster than can assemble them... I'm not complaining, this is hilarious to me, that is your style Kib!

I got back into Timberborn after your last video, went from ~6 hours to 30 in the span of a few day but I’ve had to quit my save because my 300 beaver colony has already lagged my computer to a nearly unplayable frame rate That’s not stopping me, I’m just going to make a new save and continue the game while using your videos as lessons on how to not make such chaotic messy settlements (which I’m still failing at doing)

Awsome videos kibitz! Cms is the unit for speed of flow , and can be measured with a stream gauge , a large water wheel , makes 180hp with 1 cms of flowing water , while a compact one makes only 40 , in your design , you are using 2 comapct water wheels , so 80hp/cms , and if you use large water wheels , it will generate 180hp/cms , so you gain 100 more power per row of wheel!
@nopenope8418
@nopenope8418 2 жыл бұрын
However, the large wheel is 2x5 and the small wheel pair is 2x3 so the actual gain is only 120HP/CMS for two large or three pairs of small!

They did a neat job implementing the golems, I'm particularly liking control towers consuming science to make it an infinitely needed resource. My only concern is if golems come in too late -- something I feel like happens a lot with Anno 1800, where you get a bunch of new stuff once all your cities are build up and production chains are done. I always feel like gamechangers should come earlier, and then give you something else to work/look forward to, but I dunno how best to accomplish that.

Well if you want to make the golem factory nicely balanced, a single arm factory is capable of producing 4 arms in the time it takes to a factory to produce a head or a body. So 1 of each part factory can produce enough parts to make a golem every 18 hours. And you need 2 assemblers for each. So to balance your new area, you need to switch 2 of the arm factories over to head and body (1 each), and make 3 more assemblers.

Love these vids! The CMS unit is cubic meter per second. So if it takes 1 second for the water to flow from one side of a block to another, then you would have the 40HP from the small water wheels. As the flow rate increases, the power output also increases. If you can make the water flow faster then you get far more power from the wheel than you see from the tool tip. I believe those depth sticks also have a flow meter on them so you can gauge power generation if you have one at the start and end of a power trench. Again love the content keep up the great work! PS: I should also add that this is a volumetric flow rate, so if you only have half of the water depth, then you are working at half efficiency as well.

The head and chassis each take 12 hours to make, the limbs take 3 hours each. Overall, the minimum time to build a golem is 12 hours with just 3 parts factories. But exclusive to the Irontooth faction, they have a fourth recipe which is repair kits. The Folktails golems have a fixed lifespan, but Irontooth golems can be repaired back into working order with repair kits. The only issues are that the repairs take 12 hours, and the bots have to be repaired every 30 days. Also, the Irontooth golems need to be in range of control towers to keep up efficiency, plus they work faster when working with scrap metal. Theoretically, you can build a Beaver paradise where they can spend the whole day in leisure while the golems do all the work. Although the concept of some jobs being exclusive to Beavers would hamper that dream.
@JuddMan03
@JuddMan03 2 жыл бұрын
Repairs, explosions, pollution and the need to wash it off with showers were all removed in patch 2022-08-24, sadly. You no longer really need control towers, you can no longer select which buff they give golems either. Repair packs are gone and you cant repair golems anymore :( getting wet no longer causes ironteeth golems to work slower nor folktails to work faster.
