@RaghavPal3 жыл бұрын
We can use a complete test case, as far as I know, You can copy the steps in a new TC and use it

Hi, I am having one issue with calling one test case into another test case. The issue is: when I call the test case then by default variables values come, but I want data from CSV should come which we will bind in the test case. So that we can use called test case variables from different CSV files.

Hi Aditya, In Katalon Studio, you can use the Test Data feature to bind test case parameters with data from a CSV file. To achieve the behavior you described, you can create a test case with parameters that correspond to the data in the CSV file, and then bind the parameters to the values in the CSV file using the Test Data feature. Here's an example of how you can do this: Create a test case with parameters: Open your test case in Katalon Studio and click on the Test Case tab. Click the Add button to add parameters to the test case. Enter the parameter names and types, and then click the OK button. Bind the parameters to the data in the CSV file: Right-click on the test case in the Test Cases explorer and select Test Data. In the Test Data dialog, click the Add button to add a new test data item. Select the CSV file option and browse to the CSV file you want to use. Map the columns in the CSV file to the parameters in the test case by selecting the parameter name from the drop-down list for each column. Repeat this step for each test data item you want to add. Call the test case in another test case: Open the test case where you want to call the test case with parameters. Add a Call Test Case step to the test case and select the test case you created in step 1. Click the Add button next to the Test Data option and select the test data item you want to use. Save the test case. Now, when you run the calling test case, the parameters in the called test case will be initialized with the values from the selected test data item in the CSV file. You can use these parameters in your test steps as needed

Hi! How do I pass values to the variables inside the TC1 that I am calling? I tried adding a variable with null value in TC1 and I am trying to change the value there from TC2 which is calling TC1 but it always ends in failed status. If there is a tutorial video for this, please comment the link. Thanks!

Hi Joseph, you can store this value from TC1 in a global variable and then in TC2 refer this global variable.
