The complete series made is excellent which even a layman can understand. From the other video from other channel, the so called experts made docker very complex speaking so many jargans to make things completed. The way you explained it looks very simple. Keep up the good work. Other channels unnecessarily providing so much complex theories and no practical. God bless you Raghav.

Hi Raghav, your tutorial is excellent. I have one question. What is the difference between the commands "docker run" and "docker container run"?
@RaghavPal4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ioannis, Prior to docker 1.13 the docker run command was only available. The cli commands were then refactored to have the form docker COMMAND SUBCOMMAND, wherein this case the COMMAND is container and the SUBCOMMAND is run. This was done to have a more inituitive grouping of commands since the number of commands at the time has grown substantially. stackoverflow.com/questions/51247609/what-is-the-difference-between-docker-run-and-docker-container-run

As you login in the ubantu , This means the container was started and running. Then why on other terminal you use docker start container_id and then docker stop container_id. what start command did there ? differnece between start and run command on above example of ubantu. Great tutorial. Helps a lot to me in understanding docker. Please clear my doubt.
@RaghavPal4 жыл бұрын
HI Vishal, in the session, I demoed the docker commands. This will help Docker create command creates a fresh new container from a docker image. However, it doesn’t run it immediately. Docker start command will start any stopped container. If you used docker create command to create a container, you can start it with this command. Docker run command is a combination of create and start as it creates a new container and starts it immediately. In fact, the docker run command can even pull an image from Docker Hub if it doesn’t find the mentioned image on your system. linuxhandbook.com/docker-run-vs-start-vs-create/

Thanks a lot Raghav for introducing us to the list of all useful docker commands. I've been following your automation step by step videos for some time now and I can't help but appreciate your way of presenting the topics which makes it quite simple to understand.....way to go!!! I have a question on some of the docker commands...I've used exactly the same steps as per your video to install docker on my system (Win 10, 64 bits). However, whenever I run docker info or any other docker command which makes use of the docker daemon, I get this error as below: error during connect: Get %2F%2F.%2Fpipe%2Fdocker_engine/v1.37/info: open //./pipe/docker_engine: The system cannot find the file specified. In the default daemon configuration on Windows, the docker client must be run elevated to connect. This error may also indicate that the docker daemon is not running. Can you please help me with this error on how to resolve it? Thanks in advance!

@soumyadeepmishra55296 жыл бұрын
Thanks Raghav for your response! I have, indeed, scanned through all debug-posts (docker/stackoverflow) but couldn't seem to get around any optimum resolution for docker daemon issue. First, I couldn't even see 'Docker for Windows Service' under my Win 10 -> Services (Local) utility. I even tried stopping/ starting the docker-service manually through these commands but these doesn't help either...the stop command takes forever to stop the service and then times out: C:\Program Files\Docker Toolbox>docker-machine.exe stop Stopping "default"... (It shows this message till eternity...) C:\Program Files\Docker Toolbox>docker-machine stop default Stopping "default"... (Same output - command stuck forever at this stage...)
