I've put hundreds of hours into both (though more into rF2), and no question AMS2 is waaaay better looking for effects, environment and weather. rF2's cars are lovely though. For audio, rF2 still has it, though I expect AMS2 to equal it later this year. For physics...a straight win for rF2, BUT...AMS2 gets closer and closer. The latest update isn't perfect, but it's a huge step towards rF2's great physics. By the end of the year, I think it'll be even closer. Finally, I more or less stopped playing rF2 months ago, and with the latest update to AMS2, I can't see myself ever going back.

As a default sound featured in the base game, this is quite scary, actually, because they both sound very similar to a sound mod made for the 911 RSR from Assetto Corsa. Very impressive!

I used to play AMS2 with a friend, just racing together for fun in VR in an immersive sim and AMS2 was perfect to do that. However my friend couldn't play for 2 months so I tried RF2 for the first time and wow I loved it to the point I didn't played anything else for two months. Then last week my friend had his rig back so tried to get back to race on AMS2 to prepare and to check and I didn't enjoyed it. However this week end I tried the last update and wow. So if I still prefer RF2 physics a little, AMS2 has so much to offer I think it will become my main sim now.

I like both and I play both for different reasons. In any case, thrash a GT3 around the Norschleife in AMS2 and it's very forgiving. You can get 8:20 on the 24H layout without much trouble. Do the same combination in rF2 and it's much harder - the cars are just more realistic and if you miss your spots on the track, you will lose the car, just like in real life. Don't get me wrong - AMS2 is fun and improving all the time. I use my Apple Watch to track my heart rate and I have to work 20bpm harder in rF2 to get the same result. I want Reiza to succeed with AMS2 - it will be great to have a proper alternative to rF2 that is serious about physics and FFB.

@@spellcaster39ify I agree they're not there yet and yes I understand better my car anyway in RF2, however I actually find AMS2 more difficult in some aspects. I am slightly faster in GT3/Nord in AMS2 but the diff is within a second. Now I am not a great driver and I still learn and I understand near to nothing in setups... However I feel RF2 is more forgiving about braking than other games and its grip at high speed/tires angles is stronger than AMS2. But my real point is that in terms of global experience, while I was ready to accept all the RF2 issues just because physics was so good it starts to be harder, and also I don't even imagine setting up a dedicated server just to have fun with one or two friends casually. To finish we play in VR in which visuals, damages, weather etc really play a role in immersion so....I will keep this love/hate relationship with RF but will probably spend more and more time on AMS2. Now I also truly hope the new situation of studio 397 will help them to make a more polished product.

The mighty AMS2 nails the sound and wins the soundcup for sure. That Porsche is wild and should not be muffled asin RF2. The bounce of AMS also looks way better than the floaty boat in rf2. Finally a sim that got the rsr right 😁

AMS2 sound engine is better and you can fell it on external cameras. The problem is that Reiza did a very bad sound mixing on first person camera. It's more realistic, but a very bad game design choice

The problem now for anyone tempted - some of the best content is in the DLCs so you need to spend serious $$$ to get onboard with the best AMS2 has to offer. USA pack, Spa, The Ring are absolute must haves. Still can have some serious fun with the GT1 (my fav), Ultima GTR (Race version), Sprint Race cars though.

Thats a big fat nope.... RF2 drives great - it has the physics going for it but even then has some seriously unrealistic elements (as do all sims). Very little of the content is triple AAA and a lot just looks bad. Dont even start me on the menu / UI elements...... For pick up and play, immersion & VR its AMS2 every time out of those 2.

Seems rF2 must really be more than my 1000 playing it has shown. rF2 certainly has its wins but to say it is 1000% better in all aspects is totally bias and has no place in this discussion ;l

@@2ndLastJedi I love AMS, but AMS2 completely disappointed me, especially the bumpy / shaky camera, the physics especially lift-off oversteer, ridiculous AI and set up out of the box. From the moment the game came out, all these flaws were noticeable, more than a year passed and they continue. You could ask yoda how to make the game improve, I doubt he can answer.

@@lh5942 have u played is sinds last update? Camera shake can be turnen of in the menu btw. Lift of oversteer has been fixed. For me, the one thing better in rf2 is tyrephysics, al the otter goes to ams2

@@lh5942 i got the same experience with the shaky camera. Too much for my liking. Kinda hate it. However, since the last update, tinkering with the camera settings, it's a lot better, gentler camera movements, and some cars drive better too. Definitely there are also some change to the physics.
