Vehicle Scrapping Policy In India: The government is working on a policy for the scrappage of vehicles to be based on pollution and not on the age of the automobiles, an official said on 10 Sept. Speaking at the annual convention of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways Secretary Anurag Jain asked the automobile industry to help the government in designing the programme of pollution checks "trustworthy".

1). Sounds soothing. But people like Gadkari should not be trusted. They are like blood sucking leaches. 2a). My Grandfather bought an old second hand Ambassador car, rebored it's engine and ran it for nearly next 6 years. 2b). My father had a second hand Fiat; changed its engine to Jaya Deisil engine and comfortably used till 2001. 2c). I am using Wagon R since 2013, which made about 90 thousand kms only. 3). Unfortunately, our politicians represents Auto industry, not a common middle class people. 4a). 90% of middle class people upgrade from a two wheeler to car to travel with family together and occasionally to commute from home to office, particularly during monsoon. 4b).They run their cars barely 500-800km in a month due to budget constraints. And most of them barely cross 1.2 Lakh kms. in 15 years. 5). Therefore,Privately owned Vehicles should be scrapped only after it's engine makes designed milage. Or becomes beyond economic repairs.

I am very very happy to hear this. Our car is in showroom condition. It's hyundai getz the very first model, it has covered under 1 lakh kms in 18 years. Re-registration was done after 15 years. We have to keep in mind about retired people as for them to buy new car is difficult and they can't sell it for fear of losing parking place in apartment buildings. How are vintage cars allowed. Such rules will demolish the economy of India. Logically if the cars are in good health there is no use of scraping the cars. If this is not stored new buyers will be discouraged against buying the cars. People will drop the idea of possessing the cars. This will collapse the car Market. Eventually the government and Indian car Mafia will fall. This rule (scrapping) is a great stupidity. Of the cars which are not polluting the environment are scrapped is the great loss of energy invested in manufacturing those cars. This is double stupidity. I don't know what kind of advisors are with the government who recommended such rubbish ideas. On other hand the bad roads are also responsible for the increase in pollution. Battery cars also put lots of pollution while manufacturing batteries and thereafter disposal of the exhausted batteries. Recycling the car material is also polluting process. 😮😮😮

Sir bahut bura dhanda bana rakha hai RTO walo ne. Mere known ka meerut rto ne mana kar diya tha fitness after 15 years dene ko. To usne bijnor se karwaya. Lekin santro ke fitness ke liye 6000/- fees aur 15000/- bribe li. Tab diya fitness. Is fitness certificate ne RTO walo ke maje kar rakhe hai. Bina ghoos liye karenge hi nahi car ko fit. Aur wo bhi fees ki 3-4 guna jyada ghoos.

It never made sense in the first place. Although Mr Modi has taken India to great heights but this issue should have been taken care of by the Govt. NGT and Supreme Court forced people to buy new cars, obviously Automobiles industry was hand in gloves with these bodies , and govt too didn’t try hard to oppose, as this was a good boost for the economy, people spending their money, so they dont have to face the brunt of opposition when news of slowing down automobile industry comes out. In Delhi NCR, vehicle pollution was only 3% of the total pollution, the middle class are an easy scapegoat for the Supreme Court and the Govt( all parties) , no one used the same strict hand against the farmers burning stubble, because ofcourse, they are uncivilised and form a herd mentality so they make a good vote bank. Middle class is easy to break and harass. And no, if UPA would have cone to power, dont forget the whole of India was united, the real Bahart Jodo Yatra was when India Against Corruption movement happened . Everything was pathetic, corruption was rampant. People have short memory, and that lets such crooked politicians come back to power again and aging despite being shunned out. Thats why its important to keep highlighting the ills of Nehru- Gandhi family, for people who say why such topics are brought to the forefront again and again. Dont forget the enemies of the nation, else they will rule you.
