They’re constantly pushing for 338.49 mph since the current record is 338.48 mph. I watched them in Dallas last week, saw a new ET record dropped but the fastest speed was 338.40 so 0.08 mph slower. And trust me when I say probably half the field blew up their engines on Friday or Saturday lol

It's a simple mathematical equation based upon the amount of fuel burned.

Some cars have torque sensors on the coupler. So they can measure torque and RPM. Nobody is crazy enough to strap one of these on a dyno

I did ..too bad he has no concept of electric motors ..but neither does his competition as they even went to all the expense of a custom made fly wheel clutch transmission and even a custom made differential and gears that with an electric motor are all totally useless ..but they are almost on the right track with a three phase A.C. motor using an inverter to invert D.C batters to 3 phase A.C. power ..while don is using basically a giant starter motor of D.C. current using brushes .. some day you may see the ultimate that will probably out run these rails ..and look very much like the 1/24th scale dragsters raced at commercial slot car tracks of the late 60's early 70's.

Maybe the quickest accelerating piston engine machine but not the fastest. Piston engine land speed record is 470mph and the piston engine airplane record is 528mph. None as fast or quick as a rocket sled though. Look up John Stapp, he went 632mph in 5 seconds and hit 20g.
