My car has a manual transmission, so I guess that's a level -1. But it also has cruise control, so maybe that bumps it up to 0.

My manual Audi also has cruise control. I'm pretty sure they all come with it. I never use it, but I assume when you touch the clutch it turns off.

And here we are in 2017 and I 2017 Hyundai Elantra is a level 2. The car can actually drive itself on the highway keep itself in the lane and speed up and slow down by itself. All the driver has to do is touch the steering wheel every 20 seconds and be ready to take control.

Even if fully autonomous vehicles become widespread, I do imagine that some laws will be passed that requires a licensed driver to be in the drivers seat, similar to how FAA regulations requires that pilots be at the controls even when they have autopilot engaged.

I think the main reason most things are Level 2 is legislation. The legal system has not caught up with technology; It still requires a human to be able to take control instantly.

is horse lvl 2 or 4 or 3 it have auto brake but i don't think it have lane control and it can drive automatically plz be fast i have to decide and if you have suggestion plz tell me the only horse i know the best is skyrim's horse it have good climbing and my friend say it good for trainning for martial art and sneak attack and the horse dealer ship say the speed is 15 - 30 km/h you have to train the horse to make it go faster thx for any suggestion

I would love to see self driving cars and not have to worry there are to many (using pg words) 'people' who drive like male appendages that would make it unsafe. Worse the drive who would play games with it. As for replace Taxi's, ha. Unions, many gov't, etc would 'protect' the current labor pool to the point that we would pay for a union drone to sit, do nothing, and I suppose insure our safety.

I would trust it more than a human driver ! Its a needed system ! There is a neverending problem with humans behind the wheel that no matter what will cause crashes and make roads unsafe ! Little knowledge in humans about this makes them unsure about something that is more safe and better for society. Loosing the fun in driving also stops people. But most driving is just comuting. I find mororbikes more fun, and that cars are just for moving people slowly around in a box more as the number of cars increase on the road. Finding my self stuck in a jam with a car makes me choose the motorbike. ( i dont drive crazy fast and i respect cardrivers poor view out of the box ). Owning a car is not always cheap and free from problems.

+Bartosz Olszewski "Fun" doesn't mean speeding 50 above. Driving a manual makes driving 100x more fun on its own. You don't need self-driving cars to be safer, you need smart and better educated drivers (harder road tests maybe). In fact, I'm pretty sure the self-driving cars will probably product more accidents due to GPS failure, programming bugs etc. I used to say "I will never step foot in a car with an automatic transmission". Now for me it's that and self-driving cars.

Henry Black Google cars caused only one minor incident while 13 other drivers crashed into them lol. Have you seen ANY GPS or car software failure in recent years? No, they are specifically designed with problems like that in mind, to avoid any failures. They design thas software for years to ensure it's not gonna freeze in the middle of the road or randomly lock your wheels while speeding. And tell those 20yr old drivers to drive carefully and slow. Levels aren't up to only 4 but from 0 to 5 where level 5 is full autonomous car the driver does nothing apart from starting it up and state the destination
