​@gabester1 not nothing bro. Billions of years. 1 billion years is 33.3 million (human) generations. Most animals have far shorter reproductive cycles. And cells like you see here sometimes only hours. Imagine every generation being just a tiny bit different. The possible change is gigantic. Only working organizational systems survive and reproduce. That's how you get all this seemingly fine-tuned organization. It's not random, it's natural circumstances selecting genetic traits via evolution over time frames incomprehensible to us humans.

just had an idea for how to illustrate how big a number like 33 million is. It's slightly higher than the amont of seconds in a year(!). So just imagine you would actually count 1, 2, 3, ... for an entire year nonstop. That's 33 million. And again, for by far most organisms and animals, generations are much much muuuch shorter.
