Guys. Sorry to interfere to your enthusiasm in uploading videos. My advice will be first: read the instructions of the brake caliper wind in tool if you haven't been using it before. The way you have used is completely wrong... I was baffled the way you have used it and is not of good help to beginners. Second, good practice when you got the caliper out of the way is to fasten the caliper away with anything that you have to keep it hung somewhere. Then another good practice while you there is to remove the sliding pins, clean them and apply new fresh grease. (They like to go stuck a lot). Finally for finish a good tutorial, retorq the calipers in place at 28nm. Road wheels at 110nm. Hope you will find my humble comment as a constructive one and not as a bad one. Enjoy meching around

Thanks for posting - this was very helpful (especially the piston compression bit).

No mention that theres a little nib on the back of the pad and you have line up the piston so it goes in one of the four holes or all the pressure goes on that nib and you will get uneven back wear on the inside of the disc

I just did my brakes today, front and rear, with motorcraft OEM performance pads. Nowhere did I see a nub and none of the tutorials I watched, nor the manual I looked at, mentioned this alignment nib/nub. You sure about it?

@@CRneu on the rears yes, look at the pads you fitted at the rear and see if that sit flat against the disc on the inside

@@CRneu the motorcraft pads should have them as well.

What happens if your brake pedal is still soft - like it's lost its initial 'bite' - after pushing the pedal many times? Is that indicative of air in the system or is there something else mechanical causing it which can be undone to get the brakes super sharp again?

You need to have someone else with you to help you. One of you will be standing at the break that you're bleeding and the other one will be sitting in the driver seat. Open the bleeder screw. Have them push the pedal down and then tighten the bleeder screw. If it comes out smoothly, there's no air. If it's not a smooth shot of brake fluid then you have air in the system and you need to repeat the process.
