For everyone saying you need a $3000 scanner you’re wrong. The Autel has the maxi check mx808 that’s $500 and it let me relearn. Yes I know $500 is a lot but it comes in handy for me being a mechanic and doing side work

David Actually, I replaced the camshaft sensor in my 200 and didn’t need to relearn anything. So I’m not sure if a scanner is even required.

You only need a code reader. If you do not get a code and your Jeep is stopping when driving , it is most likely the crankshaft sensor. While installing the OEM sensor, not some cheap junk. Disconnect your ground and hot cables and connect them together . After you have done the sensor connect the battery cables. Now turn on the key and let the fuel pump cycle and then turn on the car and let it idle to get warm to about 75 degrees. If your code tool is still attached delete the codes. Now turn the car back on and it is done. No codes should show and the learn has completed.

I just recently changed out the crank shaft position sensor in my 2008 bmw 335i . While driving normal it seems to be ok but as soon as a pit the gas pedal to the floor no matter what speed I’m at it goes inti limp mode and throws several codes . Do I need to get the new crank shaft sensor re learned and will this problem possibly go away ?

2016 Mustang Gt 5.0 Manual Check engine light begins flashing Randomly here and there not every day .. when I’m driving at normal speeds or highway speeds . I own a MaxiPro MP808TS , Will I be able to do a relearn with this Scanner . I follow step by step but after Control Unit it takes me to a different menu , compare to yours .. any suggestions overall .

Someone help me out I've replaced my my flywheel, clutch, pressure plate with light weight aftermarket parts. My ECM, and crankshaft position sensor.(car was in wreck). To my knowledge you have to get your crankshaft position sensor/cam relearned if you do the sensors, my car is throwing dtcP0315. It means no crank sensor learned. I've been told by 2 technician's that my certain car 2013 dodge dart limited 1.4lturbo doesnt need to be re learned and they are trying to say I got a timing issue or maybe mechanical instead and wont listen to me about re learning me sensors on the timing they said you can't relearn the crank/ cam on my car. Any help or advice would be appreciated

Just learned of this an hour ago. I guess I should visit the forums again. Wondering the same about my '06 Magnum R/T. I read elsewhere that this is an "optional" thing? I have to believe it's mandatory because I've replaced SIX crank sensors in my car for stalling in the last 13 years (and this always fixed it) and this was the first I'd heard of it. I always just figured therre must be QC issues with the sensors themselves, but this makes much more sense. 5 months ago I replaced both cam and crank sensors, and tonight I'm stalling out again. Any mechanics out there with a verdict?

No your car ecu will learn it quick, this way is more if a instant factory settings fix.

@@brook280 would be nice to know what quick means. like 10 minutes or a week of driving? i just replaced my camshaft sensor and now its throwing me a crank sensor p0335. i try to reset it a millions times, i try trying out the fuse. nothing works. it takes a while to start but once it does everything runs normally.

@@sggarcia7619 Thanks. I had the dealer do the learn procedure but it didn't help. I ended up replacing all 8 ignition coils (Denso 673-5202 from rockauto) and it has been running like a champ ever since Oct 2019. Not even a hint of a hiccup anymore. Say a prayer for me. LOL

I just replaced the ECM in a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix. Its running like the Crankshaft Position Sensor is bad. Its giving me codes P0336 P0386 and P2162 which are all related to the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Any suggestions.

Its calibrating the sensor.... The relative position of the crankshaft and camshafts is very important. Replacing the sensors would need calibration, but also anything that affects those relative positions, like changing the timing chain or oil control solenoid or cam phaser.
