AUTOSAR: Difference between Application and Implementation Datatypes

Application SWCs can receive signals with Idt data types? Or they only can receive Adt data types Also, the Actuator Sensor SWCs receives only signals with Idt data types?

Basically Application Data Types only exist in an early phase of architecture specification, because implementation specific information (e.g. basetypes) is not part of the Adt. So on the implementation level (C-Code) only Idts exist and only the Idt names will be seen in the code. This is the case for any kind of software incl. application SWCs and Actuator Sensor SWCs.

Thanks for this explanation, I was recently searching for this particular topic! Is it possible for you to talk about different VariableAccess roles (dataSendPoints, etc), and some usages? I've haven't had the need of using anything different to dataWriteAccess and dataReadAccess.
