Chris - just hope you’re as blown away as we are at your achievement! Your project brought many happy memories for me... FYI, I’m in east London, UK and a little older than you (and Shawn?!). As an exchange student, my first visit to US in ‘78 for 6 months included the goal of buying & driving a Mustang Fastback! Within 2 weeks I found a 1-owner ‘70 Fastback 302 3-speed auto in bright orange and had the time of my my life exceeding all of my expectations! Like you, I had a racing background, but in karts. My ‘72-‘76 project was to build my BMiniW Isetta - my kart for the road @ 44” track & 54” wheelbase! Even @ 118k mi, my Mustang would wheelspin thro’ 2nd gear in a straight line, drift around cloverleaf slips on & off local roads - both in the dry. I’m afraid I made a bit of a nuisance of myself, but no tickets...
