So I know many of you have asked in the past to give some tips while on an Autobahn Drive. What else should people take into account while driving on the Autobahn? Let me know

Keep it low on the gas whenever you're about to pass on the left multiple cars, keep an eye on cars that are behind other slower cars/vehicles. Never pass on the right. Get back in the first lane if it's empty. Those are the most important things I'd say you all need to underline and keep in mind.

1: Headlights ON 2: Reduce speed and cover the brake when passing multiple vehicles - expect one to move to lane 2. 3: In any situation, assume nobody has seen you approaching and act accordingly.

Always give enough room in front and behind for other drivers on the road, that for moving to the left lane or moving back. When you drive fast, don't 3-tick the indicator, let it run till from the moment before you start moving till you've fully moved over to the other lane. Not everyone is always looking at their mirrors, give them time to notice your move. (keep in mind that I personally move back to the right lane as the car I drive doesn't go over 172 km/h )

Dont go too fast in a 2 lane autobahn particularly when there is increased traffic ,also when you see a car behind a truck or a caravan keep in mind that it may at any time decide to overtake and he might have not see you(espesially if you are coming too fast ).

What I do when driving over 160 km/h is to switch to the stiff suspension mode (Sport suspension mode). Leaving the car in comfort mode may cause severe and dangerous chasis bouncing if you drive faster than 200 km/h over the random subsidence on the Autobahn.

@@perku4I agree with you, but inflation is a natural part of Western economics. To get a real idea of the “cost” of something you have to adjust for inflation and then compare. When doing that the picture changes and it’s not as bad as the absolute numbers make it seem. I did this comparison with M3’s a little while ago, comparing the E46 M3 I bought new in 2005 with a modern one. If I recall correctly the new one was only about 5-10% more in inflation adjusted price. Still an increase, but not the ~60% increase it seems in absolute values.

4.7% which is in line with the legal requirement. MUST NOT under-read, can over-read up to a larger percentage than that. So manufacturers aim somewhere in the middle of the legal tolerance, hence all speedos over-read on unmodified cars

Porsche speedos tend to read 2-3 mph more than GPS. Apart from my GT4 manual, which could have been literally anything. 😂

Nice run. 5% speedo error is quite high though, It's more like 3% on some cars, BMW springs to mind. Obviously an over-read is done on purpose for legal reasons but there is a difference between cars it seems. If anything higher tyre pressures would make it read a bit less compared to lower pressures. I assume the tyres had good tread as worn tyres can make the error worse.

Finally, you guys set the tire pressure correctly before hitting the autobahn, avoiding the nasty warning. Again, with extremely high speeds, with insufficient tire pressure (eg. Comfort pressure) the tire will start to overheat, which will heat up the air in the tire, and the pressure will then overshoot. Pumping tires with higher pressure will make the tire pressure more stable on exteeme speeds, by preventing the air overheat.

As long as they keep a plain regular combustion , I don't mind the led instruments it's a nice touch. and the start button. I think the guys at Porsche seem to be more in touch with the sophisticated sort of customer. In contrast BMW have that mounted single screen .

I have a Carrera S , 992.1. The fastest speed I ever reached was 280. Around Munich there are too many cars on the autobahn on most days and times.

I didn't know that much higher initial tire pressure at high speeds gives greater vehicle stability. I think Porsche designers should specify as standard that tires in 911 should have different pressures than standard vehicles.

@@m.j.41 rwd more fun an exciting, awd better on bad or bumpy roads and faster out of corners. Feels more agile. On a 911 you don’t feel any negatives in the steering from the front wheels. Test out first before you order. RAS not really needed, but a welcome add-on.

Au vu de la marge d'erreur habituelle des tachymètres, pas sûr que l'on puisse conclure quoi que ce soit sur cette base. Mieux vaudrait se baser sur la vitesse indiquée par le GPS. De plus, pour faire une comparaison valable, le sens dans lequel l'autoroute est parcouru devrait être le même pour neutraliser l'effet de la pente. Or vous avez décidé de changer de sens pour des raisons d'éblouissement. En conclusion, au vu du faible écart de vitesse maximale annoncé par Porsche entre les deux voitures et du fait de tous les facteurs externes impactant la mesure de la vitesse maximale (pente, trafic, vent, température...), on ne peut rien conclure de définitif ;-) Mais quelques km/h de différence en vitesse de pointe, est-ce si important?

The law determines that it is acceptable. It is roughly in the middle of the legally required accuracy band. Over-reading is permitted, under-reading is not. If you want to know true speed use your GPS

You only have to watch the other videos of AutoTop NL. Most new cars have a deviation under 10 km/h - even Porsche models. My Panamera turbo S (2022) has a deviation of 9 km/h at topspeed. ​@@harryspeakup8452
