The seasons are very intrinsic to who I am. We lived in the south US for 8.5 years and there are no seasons really. I was very anxious to come back home to the northwest. I have come back to life here in the winter’s rest & spring’s rejuvenation, summer’s bounty, & autumn’s bundling.

I don’t know about Trackers but Frazier’s Cold Mountain is amazing! It was a favorite read of the year 2 years ago. It is beautiful. Reminds me of The Odyssey, only in early 20th century America. & On land.

I’m looking forward to it. And I’m sure Cold Mountain won’t be far behind ;)

I'm in Brissie, it's been so humid this year so I am loving the onset of autumn. I am finally able to sleep. The Great Gatsby is one I re read quite frequently, I just love the writing and the story. I am currently taking on a few of the prize longlists, including a few from the Stella longlist, so busy months ahead.

I love the idea of reading some of the long lists - hope you find some gems in there. Welcome to autumn ❤️

I have The Great Gatsby beside two other books with similar themes and devastating endings in the sense they reveal something very true about the conflicts of the heart. The two books are The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton and The Good Soldier by Ford Maddox Ford. Whenever I read one, I read the other two. Excellent writing, meant to be read out loud, especially the most moving passages. I've wondered over the years which one had the most painful ending, and it has to be The Good Soldier. On another booktubers channel talking about March Mystery, I commented that The Great Gatsby was a mystery, meaning, what did Jay see in Daisy to dedicate his life to her? A mystery of science, or of the heart.

I recently read Rebecca for the first time and loved it. I agree with you and also embrace the season I am in. Wishing for the next season to get here won’t make it arrive any quicker. Funny how it’s autumn 🍁🍂in Australia and here in America it’s almost spring 🍃🌷

Hi Angela I've not long finished The Great Gatsby and then watched the film, so good. My friends and I read The Salt Path by Raynor and still have it to discuss, opens your eyes to homelessness and how people judged them. I will be interested to see your review of Frankenstein it's on my list this year. Enjoy Autumn 🍁
