Do they ever try to ‘help’ with your projects by laying on top of everything or knocking stuff over? (I have blue paw prints all over one of my chairs from my own cat lol)

they are very destructive. You can visit my channel in the community section. I have posted a picture of my cat, it bit me and caused me serious injury just because I told him not to bully other cats. That case made me rest for about 2 weeks. they mess everything up and are extremely disruptive
