When you said "keep on keepin on" I got such goosebumps. My grandpa who passed a few years ago used to say that to all of our family, it was his biggest advice always, so I have always associated it with him/a sign that I'm on the right path since he's on the other side now. If I needed any confirmation, there it was!! Thank you for hosting this event, I am feeling more confident already just knowing that I can untangle things one step at a time. In terms of my journey, I am autistic and adhd, so I have been working hard to unmask around my extended family because I feel so much pressure to be "normal" around them no matter how I feel or what my senses are saying and it always blows up in my face and I end up being avoidant of gatherings or correspondence, which I don't want to continue. My goal this year is to be more authentically myself in all areas, and I think I am going to show up to Christmas this year for a change because even if I need breaks in another room or earplugs because of the noise levels, I do miss my family. I am ashamed for missing as many gatherings as I have because it felt easier than facing the heavy masking and the well-intentioned criticism, but that is their shadow talking and I want to feel genuine connection and bonds, not shallow surface level approval of something not wholly me anyway. I am going to be brave and give them a chance to love the genuine me, instead of the me that's avoidant and reclusive to protect myself. She served to protect me once, but I think this hermit crab has grown too big for her shell lol. Anyway, thank you again for the wisdom and the approachable format. I'm excited to move forward with intention and deliberate creation of my life against any odds.

I 'm so sorry for not being focused. I had loss my husband and still grieving and it's hard for me to really think straight. I'm to make time to put effort and trying to make peace with myself.
