I just listened to your version and the end of your video to hear what you are saying about this song and what you are doing. I am French living in France and it was only a little over a year ago that I heard Eva Cassidy who made me cry because her voice was just perfect. Just human, real, magnificent. Its accuracy of note and nostalgia, of human emotion, all this gave me so much personal emotion that I fell in love with it musically. I was sad to find out afterwards that she was no longer alive. I subscribe to your channel because I see that beyond your version rich in depth that you are looking for the truth. Your version is certainly with a superb voice but your heart is also found in it. You don't only sing for the beautiful but also for the good. I congratulate you, you are a true seeker of truth. I hope to see you at my place and I would really like you to take a moment to look at my version of Autumn Leaves which I had the immense emotion of making. I am far, very far from Eva of course but it's almost to say, "You see Eva you always inspire us" My regards Franck. Je suis français vivant en France et ce n'est qu'il y a un peu plus d'un an que j'ai entendu Eva Cassidy qui m'a fait pleuré tellement sa voix était juste parfaite. Juste humaine, vraie, magnifique. Sa justesse de note et de nostalgie, d'émotion humaine, tout cela m'a donné tant d'émotion personnelle que j'en suis tombé amoureux musicalement. Je fus triste de savoir ensuite qu'elle n'était plus vivante. JE m'abonne à ta chaine car je vois qu'au delà de ta version riche en profondeur que tu cherches le vrai. Ta version est certe avec une voix superbe mais ton coeur se retrouve aussi dedans. Tu ne chantes pas que pour le beau mais aussi pour le bon. Je te félicite, tu es un véritable chercheur du vrai. J'espère te voir chez moi et j'aimerai beaucoup que tu te penche un instant sur ma version d'autumn leaves que j'ai eu l'immense émotion de faire. I heard this song for the first time when I was 14 or 15, that was almost 50 years ago, and I became obsessed with it. I remember playing the 33rpm record dozens of times non-stop on a fall day in Buenos Aires as I was reading the last chapters of The Judas Tree by A. Croning. I listened to it many times since then, but it never grabbed me again as strongly until I heard your version. And you are right, this song is right for the times we are living. You have a gift. Your version of Unusual Way touched me deeply too. You can own a song written by someone else, you can re-create it, not many singer can achieve this. Enjoy your gift and thanks for sharing it.

Nice job. I really like this version and you did very well. I like Nat King Cole’s version and Barabra Streisands version which had been my favorite interpretation. I like how she introduces the song in French and then reverts to English. I have not heard it in a while until now. You are a great singer and I enjoyed your version as well. You are up there with the rest of the famous artists. Been waiting to hear more of you and now I have. Can’t wait to hear more.

Hi! Thanks so much for the story.. as I was doing this, I thought about perhaps trying it in French sometime. I did study Opera, so I often think about doing songs in other languages. However, I also am self conscious about my accent! Maybe if I could get a really good French coach I'd try it.

@@GriffithFrank Oh wow! Go for it Griffith. Don’t limit your self. I listen to and love opera. I would love to hear what you can do. I think I have heard everything you have put out on youtube and there has not been anything that I have not enjoyed. You gave a recital which now I cannot remember the song but it was when you were a bit younger and I thought it was awesome. It was not perfect and I sensed your nervousness but I thought what an undertaking and gutsy. And you did wonderful. Since then you have evolved into a truly talented singer. So I know that what ever you put your mind to you will accomplish it and be successful. You said you have things coming down the line and I’ll be waiting. One question, what is the name of the song you sang at a jazz festival a song that I love. Some of the lyrics is, “Feelings running so deep, a language that our eyes speak...” That was an awesome song and you sang it so well. But it seams like I heard it before when I was very young. Is that the only version you have? It is probably my favorite next to “You will be missed.” Please let me know. Thanks man, and keep up the excellent work.
