Great video. I am glad I watched it before I started my project which will be the hummingbird scene since it is spring. I already bought it so it will have to be shrunk down 10%.
@jollymollytv7 ай бұрын
Thank you! Oh that hummingbird scene will be really pretty! Yes, shrink it down, if you can, to about 6.9". Then it will fit nicely on the glass block, with a nice little glass frame effect around the edges. ☺

Thank you so much for making this video! I have learned so much! I am glad I was able to watch you do every step before I tried on my own! I believe I will be able to accomplish this project, but I have to get all the right materials! And I didn't know that there was a mesh/fabric water-soluble stabilizer. This will be key! I want to make many of these! Very fun! and glad you tried the multi-color lights!

You are so welcome, I'm so glad I could help! You can do it! Just get your supplies, then watch the video again, and follow along with each step, pausing the video as you go. I create my videos this way, showing every step, so you can have me there with you as you make it. You got this! 😊

I did this! For my first one, not perfect but the design I chose didn't fit my hoop so I resized it, I think this made for the one mistake. I need to figure out how to multi hoop or resize properly so it transfers properly. I was able to fill in the missing spots free hand. :) But so pleased with how this turned out! And you to thank! Love this! @@jollymollytv
@jollymollytv Жыл бұрын
@@karleneleseman8618 Yay!!! You did great!! It doesn't have to be perfect, done is better than perfect, lol. Sometimes during the resizing, depending on the program, it won't do it correctly. So that may be what happened. If I resize on my machine, I have better luck, than if I do it in an embroidery software, but it all depends on if your machine is capable of resizing on it's own. I am so proud of you, you did a great job!! 😀

Couldn't you use curved embroidery scissors for the last part? And can you use a fine mist from a spray bottle in sections?
@jollymollytv Жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes, curved embroidery scissors would work great for the last part, and yes, use a misting spray bottle! I used one in my second stained glass video, the one where I made Christmas blocks. 😊

Is the 2 layers of water soluble stabilizer on top or under the organza when hooped???
@jollymollytv7 ай бұрын
Hi, The 2 layers of water soluble stabilizer are on the bottom, then put the organza on top of them, then hoop. That way the stitching is on top of the organza as you are stitching. 🙂

When do you put the other side of velcro dot on
@jollymollytv Жыл бұрын
Hello, You have 2 separate sheets of dots, one clear and one with the loops on it. Put both sheets together, matching the circles together which connects the velcro together. Then when you peel the dots off, you are taking the set off together. Then you put the clear side down on the glass block. Then you add glue to the dot. The sets are still connected together, does that help?

Your video is great. Thanks. I made the Christmas stained glass design by Emblibrary. I used OESD Aqua Mesh Wash Away and followed your video. I'm not sure this stabilizer works well. I looked at the Kimber and they have wash away and then they have wash away sticky back. It looks from the video that you used Wash Away (without sticky back). Is that true? I'd like to order the Kimber but want to make sure I am getting the correct one. Thanks for your help.
@jollymollytv Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, you only need a wash away stabilizer, not a sticky back. Mygirlsfriendsquiltshoppe has the large size in stock right now, the 20" long roll, looks like they are out of the 12" roll. Here is the link to the 20", so you can see which one it is. mygirlfriendsquiltshoppe.com/products/kimberbell-wash-away-20in-x-10yd?_pos=9&_sid=19a0d9086&_ss=r You can use any brand of wash away stabilizer, just make sure it's a woven one, not a clear. You need the woven to help in the stitching out process, to keep the design from moving, shifting, or puckering. If you are making the large blocks, then this 20" roll will work, for an 8" hoop or 8 x 12" hoop. Hope this helps!

I purchased the Embroidery Design of the Snowflake on the glass block. Do you have any ideas of how to do this design since it is not a square?
@jollymollytv Жыл бұрын
Hi! Is it the round stained glass snowflake with the black satin edge border? If so, you can trim right up close to the black satin stitch edging, making the complete circle, then put the velcro dots around the circle edge. If it's a different design that doesn't have the satin stitch edging, you could allow 1/2" bigger than the 6.87" approx inside of the glass block, use pinking shears on the edges, then roll each edge under 2 times and stitch the edges. Hope this helps!
