Thank you for a very nice lesson. I fish a lot of grayling in the river Dalälven 90 minutes to the north of Stockholm. Autumn is fantastic for grayling fishing.

Very informative videos. Good job! I agree that graylings are very choosy when it comes to dry flies. A tiny Blue Dun proved to be their favourite three weeks ago in Bavaria.

Next time you come North of the border, look me up and I'll take you for a days fishing on the Clyde. Caught a beautiful grayling of 2 3/4lb and there's bigger ones! I enjoy your videos as they make me desperate to get fishing. Tight lines.

So, I live in Norway, but I fly fish at my cabin in Sweden. The grayling in the rivers I fish can be very fuzzy and only take a couple of different flies sometimes, but often they'll take anything mosquito! Regardless of weather and conditions they'll always take the tan klinkhamer though, so that is the ace up my sleeve atleast. Cheers!

A tactic we use pretty commonIy here in aus. Is to repIace the indicator with a ginked dryfIy. It works quite weII as an indicator and aIso aIIows you the chance of getting a take on the dry fIy

Grayling is hard fish for me. I never caught them in big numbers, although they are abundant in the area where I live (southern Poland). In September they are very active and I caught more of them in 2 days, than in whole summer.

A ten foot #4 would do the trick sir. The Shakespeare Agility range are very good value for money! Tight lines :-)

jon, i use this the nymph-indicator technique alot here on our wisconsin streams and i noticed during each drift you wiggle the rod tip....may i ask why?..BTW, great video, i am going to have to come across the pond and fish with you...
@mattbaily13146 жыл бұрын
I think he's wiggling the rod tip to feed out more slack line during the drift. See how the bow of slack in front of the reel diminishes as he wiggles the rod tip. Also, as a method to twitch the fly to induce a take. The larger movements are mends to maintain the drag free drift.
