Autumn Winter 2024 Collection in Milan Fashion Week | Onitsuka Tiger

Onitsuka Tiger presented its 2024 Autumn/Winter Yellow Collection on Wednesday, February 21st at Milan Fashion Week. The theme of the collection is "Urban Winter".　The looks created by made in Japan apparels express the essence of urban winter landscapes with a wet coating finish reminiscent of sudden thunderstorms in Tokyo.

Long time buyer first time reviewer. The KZbins Milan fashion show comment section was about which asian influencers people love rather than people talking about the clothes the models were wearing. Who are these influencers? Its understandable that Asia recognise them if that was the brands sole market but it isnt, is it? I would like to see diverse range of countries being represented when it comes to "stars" who wear this brand! I've seen nobody I recognise, thus less chance of me buying the product. The last ones I recognise were the Smith family which was a collaboration with them doing the Tiger Gallery and I remember an advert with Will. Im not a fan of the Smiths but they are recognisable to me. The KZbin Milan episode was 40 mins staring at a yellow banner and then a 10 minute fasion show [it happened last year too]. Who is in charge of your online marketing? How many people got bored waiting? Although I will say the online infomation for the Milan show was ten times better this year than last year. Streamlining is the operative word here. Prospective customers in Europe and the USA[shops closed] would like stars they also recognise, otherwise the brand wont sell well in other areas. Especially when the brand wont appear in other retailers, a pop up in Dover Street Market, would be ideal, even just for the clothes. The clothes are well tailored but are very androgenous and I am not a fan of anything in this spring/summer for the men but love all the womens clothes from the last two seasons and that is a shame. The garment prices are too expensive [especially when OT use products like polyester], I feel Onitsuka are pricing average earners out of buying their new garments, also a shame especially with the cost of living. The trainers have always been where it's at for me though but even they are losing their way in a already saturated market and have gone up in price a few times over the last year without any really interesting collaborations. Ive worn the trainers since I was a kid [Bruce Lee fan] in yellow/black but I cant wear Mexico 66 for the rest of my life. I like to try different silhouettes. The last pair of trainers I bought were Endactus [street fighter collab], love them because they look different and go with last summers yellow tracksuit, even if the sole is a bit on the heavy side. I also missed out on the Ohbori [the best new design Onitsuka have had for years in my opinion] in yellow and black as they weren't in store but were sold out online. These, along with the big logo 2.0 high tops. Nice. Sportlux is a well-documented thing, as is athleisure/lifestyle and diffusion ranges, something OT did well and I alrrady miss. I would suggest any other high fashion brands like marc jacobs [asics collab] are the type of person OT should swerve especially if venturing into the high fashion space itself; lest LVMH [company housing brands of all kinds] decide to buy out OT. As I understand the designer is from Milan. Personally, Id have gone with asian designers Im sure Edison Chen & Clot, an Atmos collaboration or chrome hearts? Maybe someone in the denim space [Cav Empt is a great underrated japanese brand], this would be well received by the sneaker community....the same community dropping one thousand five hundred pounds on retail Nike Air Jordan one x Dior or twenty thousand on Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force ones. If OT were serious about marketing into europe theyd just do a collab with Mschf. I do own the last couple of seasons of the tracksuit in yellow black but this is only because I know the brand, not because of advertising/marketing or any of the Asian influencers. Could Onitsuka give the website and flagship store more infomation about each other? When I have mentioned the store to people they though it was Asics, not Onitsuka Tiger flagship store. As it is the flagship store you obviously want people to come there, which if they're are in Scotland [which is far from London] there should be a clear delineation between the two things....example; this is only available in store. Ive read stories on reviews about people travelling far and wide to come to Regent Street only to leave empty handed. I would also like to see more shops in the UK, Regent street is a great location and better now it is solely Onitsuka Tiger [Asics is down the road in Marylebone]. My opinion is I feel Onitsuka has become unaffordable for me personally and that makes me somewhat sad leaving me thinking this; Should Onitsuka really put all their eggs in the high fashion basket? There are never any instore sale events if ive ever asked in store; why are there no sales in store? example: 500 people come in and ask are there any sales? Answer, no. Theres a chance 500 people that arent coming back or will buy from third party on ebay/vinted or depop. But if they knew the brand had online sales, would the brand lose custom? In my opinion Onitsuka is doomed to fail again in the west if this is its direction. Ive watched it happen twice before in the UK and its something that could be avoided going forward. In store/online questionaires and some actual marketing could help rectify alot of these things.
