I am 72 and thank you for not showing you cleaning. I don't understand why so many young women like to watch others clean. The only motivation I need to clean is a sink full of dirty dishes or a tub full of laundry in my own home. I love seeing the decorating. And your small kitchen is charming, cozy and speaks of home and comfort. Love the heirloom treasures. I always have a cookbook opened to a seasonal recipe. It's such a homey thing. As for the neighbors house... I love the terracotta potted topiary . I would just have one where the bottom has trailing ivy with a stem and a top ball of ivy higher up to obstruct more of the unwanted view. Your home is one of my absolute favorites. It excludes warmth and family. Thank you so much for sharing. I am off to light a candle and make a cup of tea.
@stonecottageadventures304 Жыл бұрын
And I know you well enough to know you would be unable to make the tea if there was a single dish in the sink! A woman after my own heart.

I love small homes. I find them to be so cozy and inviting, and yours is all of that and more! You have such a unique style with all of your thrifted and inherited pieces, and everything goes so beautifully together! I recognized the fabric that you used on your outdoor cushions and it looks fabulous on your dining chairs and table too! I guess you went and bought the rest of the bolt! I'm all in for a full house tour....that would be wonderful!
@stonecottageadventures304 Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! And yes, I did run back and buy the rest of the bolt. The last yard was $3.40. I still have 2 yards left, so it will show up somewhere else!

You have your butter on the counter! My mother did this and I do too! I never see this in a kitchen “reveal”. I also have never seen any other video where the kitchen is so realistically depicted for function! You have truly captured the essence of a functional working kitchen that accommodates family! Thank you for the inspiration based in reality!

Even as I was preparing for the video, the kitchen was being used. If you look carefully at the fruit, it changes in the pictures because we continue to eat.

Better an equestrian theme than actually having a horse! I actually have some needlepoint horses that belonged to my mom, who loved horses.

I love your home. It seems to be filled with interesting conversation pieces, family heirlooms, inexpensive items, high quality, and everything in between yet overall it looks like a very welcoming and comforting place. And I absolutely love your gardening videos and have reworked some of my old flower beds into pretty shrubbery areas. It is amazing how it softened the house and gave a very classy look to my front yard,.

I ❤ this video! Wish there was a button to push for a heart but I guess the like button will just have to do. I have a 40’s cottage with a wrap around porch, which I know was added later. I try to stay true to my home’s “period” but as with everything some things are much older, some younger. That “spice rack” though that you have hanging on the side of your cabinet would fit my home perfectly. I love that piece soooo much. So many lovely things collected and/or handed down over time!❤

I had to chuckle at your comment about do we really want to see you clean your kitchen. Not really. I like the way you presented your kitchen decor without that step. When I come across the videos showing that process, I just fast forward through it. I believe we think alike as I am also the person who was happy that your last post didn't include a HL haul. Anyhow, your kitchen turned out beautiful and just right for the fall season. Count me in as one who would love to see a whole house tour.

You mention alot about not wanting to look at your neighbor's house. Is there any reason why you didn't put up a privacy fence and/or plantings? I put in about about 40 trees and bushes to block our neighbors and it was the best money ever spent (purchased in the winter when nurseries got rid of their stock for 80% off).
@stonecottageadventures304 Жыл бұрын
Because the houses are so close together, the trees that were planted there by the previous owner grew tall to reach the sun and made no branches down low enough to provide any privacy. Since they were evergreens, their sap was damaging the roof. And then there was so much shade that nothing would grow below them. There are actually some trees remaining, we just can't see them. Fortunately, they have darling children that stop and wave to me when they see me through the window. Way more info than you wanted!
