I used to work for TRR. They’re an awful company. I was a head authenticator. 85% of the items aren’t formally authenticated by a person qualified to do so. Copywriters do it and they’re not trained to do so.

I've done that before and it's very pretty but you have to be careful because if there are any sharp pieces on the grommets they could catch the fabric. Also, I wouldn't leave it stored with the twilly because the metal on the grommets could discolor the fabric.

This is a great bag, and it will get even more beautiful as you use it. I’m not afraid of vachetta. I love how it looks as it ages. As long as the patina is even, it will be great. Just don’t throw any wine on it!

OMG Autumn, I had no idea these bags were ever made. Please don't "modify" anything! It is simply gorgeous and elegant but subdued. The condition is unbelievable-specially coming from the RR...and given its age. It was a great find. Congratulations.

Thank you. The modifications don't alter the integrity of the bag at all. They're about making it more functional and easier to use and can easily be undone.

Autumn you have an amazing talent for finding these hidden gems on TRR! (It doesn't hurt that they often don't do any research on their older bags before they price them.) I remember when these came out, it was in the mid-2000s sometime. Maybe someone else in the comments will have more info, but I MIGHT remember seeing the speedy in a boutique in SF. Maybe in 2000 it was a special order, but then later in the decade they came out with a collection in store.

All vachetta 😱 It’s gorgeous 💕 I did see an all vachetta Speedy 25 in an image - I think it was around 2019/20. I called CS and they said it was only released in certain countries. Im in 🇬🇧 I have cleaned my Neverfull handles with a wet wipe which removed the dark grime. I have also rubbed pure coconut oil on all my new LV bags with vachetta to condition the vachetta.

The Nomad bags are super cool. I think they were initially made in the late 90s for an LV Anniversary. I like the way they look but am terrified of an all vachetta bag, lol. Congrats on your newest addition, I hope you enjoy it in good health!

What a great find! Excellent condition and an excellent price. I’ve seen some of these all vachetta bags and they are usually pretty rough for wear… but I love them. I know they don’t make them anymore, but even if they did, I think preowned is the way to go - like you said, someone already did all the work (and had all the stress and anxiety!) for you.

I know that feeling! My birthday haul video fail (maybe you saw it), I nearly threw the bag across my table and then I remembered I was filming and didn't want you all to think I'm cray cray so I just dropped it on the floor, lol. I just swore off of any LV bags with vachetta, but that is fabulous. Looks like it's in amazing condition too. Great find! I have two gucci pieces from 2002 and they were worn. But thankfully the Rago Brothers in NJ did beautiful work on them. If it's fixable and you have a good cobbler, a bag with wear and tear may be worth it. For anyone interested you can contact them for an estimate and mail it in for repairs. Beautiful piece! I hear that style is coming back too on LV.

Nomade leather was shown on the latest LV F/W 2022 runway show. It was in the Alma, Speedy, and the Loop GM. I was in LV yesterday and the price listed, if they even get them in-store, will be 6-7k. I have communicated with a Japanese retailer on eBay about a Speedy from the anniversary edition, but I didn’t follow up. Congrats on the fantastic find! 🎉 It gives hope to score a good one on the resale market.

I'm always so surprised how cheap the vintage Noe GMs are. My bf bought me a red epi one from Japan that is almost 30 years old for under $500 and is pristine! I thought the bag was going to be too big/bulky and heavy but I find it very comfortable to wear. That all leather one is pretty interesting!

It's too pretty to carry! I would be scared to carry it up against my body in the sweltering sweaty humidity of the southeast US in the summer (heck, 8 months+ of the year). Maybe a winter bag. But beautifully patinaed vachetta does make the heart melt.
