Pretty quick disassembly and assembly… I have no doubt the motherboard would be identical to the one shown in this video, but the 6 CD player on my 2007 Highlander had a different assembly once the stereo was removed. Put it all back together before i started breaking shit but great video!

Thanks, this is great! I will say it seems unnecessary to have the female to female coupler. Correct me if I'm wrong but you can just cut off one male end of the 3-ft cable and attach it to the female mount.

yes. it should but the fake cassette has to be running to act as a switch for the signal to pass thru the amplifier etc. Unfortunately thats the only way i know it will work. rick

The tape player is not connected but a dummy cassette is needed that the stereo select tape mode...how does the stereo detect a cassette then select tape player whilst the tape player isn't connected to the stereo. I heard that it shouldn't be connected because it might cause nasty sounds

Hello Julie and Tom, good question...because we did try an adapter and it introduced a lot of noise into the signal. At least this method has a clean signal. Rick

Trying to do this to my 2001 Toyota solara How did u attach the wire to the female stereo connector ?

Isru - first tin the wire and then tin the post where it goes...and then hold the wire on the post that is tinned and apply the soldering iron for only a few seconds to melt the solder and that is the way to do soldering with fine wires. I use a very fine point tip soldering iron . Hope this helps.

Is this a joke? You know that dummy cassette that you put into the radio should play your music from your phone with out doing all those other steps.
