For the regular testing of bulbs, I'd keep the process you currently have. For off-road lights like these, testing outside can give a better idea as to the long range beam pattern. Great review!

Great video! It is so hard to get a good idea of a light's beam pattern because the illustrations used in Amazon and eBay ads are absolute malarkey. Too many manufacturers focus on making offroad lights with a concentrated spot beam because "further is better." But unless you're going absolutely straight at 100+mph, this typical off-road light beam pattern is useless. Even the "combo" beam patterns are imperfect because they have the central spot-beam hotspot that ruins your eyes' night vision for the peripheral light distribution. Offroad light manufacturers need to realize that real offroading and 4x4 trails not only go left and right, but also up and down - and it's done at low speed. What we need is a beam pattern that is a cross between a flood light and a driving light, without any extreme "hot spots" in the beam pattern.

A lot of us watch your channel as you focus on lights and bulbs. Please do more Off-Road lights including Light Bars and Fog Lights. Remember: Not everyone is in America so, it would be nice for you to review some lights from other countries, Ie. the UK has a company called Lazerlamps that looks great, Australia has ARB which do some good lights too.

Thank you very much for the great feedback. I will do more off-road lighting in the future in addition to the LED headlight upgrades that I have been doing so far. However, if I can't get them in the US, I can't review them. 😆. In addition, there is the cost factor. Despite what people might think, it is very difficult to make money on KZbin until you reach a level that I am not even close to. I lose money on every video I make, hoping that eventually, it will turn around. Here's how you can help me get to that level.... Subscribe and then hit the Like and Share button. Wanna help even more? Tell the companies that make the products that you want to see me review reach out to me. That will help a ton. Finally...if nothing else, press the THANKS button. That will help even more. I'll continue to do my best with what I have!

Nice, enjoy watching your reviews and the info is great. Wanted to suggest lights from a company called COLIGHT.. I have a set of their dual color 3 inch pods which as far as visually are great. Yellow low beam and white high and on a switch so I can turn them off. Only issue I have had with them is that this particular light does not have a breather so have had a problem with condensation. Their other lights do have breathers, but would love to see some comparison of those lights and info based on your kind of testing. Keep up the good work!

I'd like to see a comparison, or a review of the Auxbeam 7 inch round LED's. These lights look great. And I'd consider them. I'm not happy with the Auxbeams that I got, and they are usually pretty decent for these chinese export LEDs. One thing I noticed is the Wattage rating on the front of this light is listed at 82W, so they are right in line with your readings.
@toyotabrony Жыл бұрын
And I will say, they are a aggressive lookin off-road pod lights. I can use them while driving, specifically with DRL’s since those Amber are exceptional driving with DRL’s, as long as the full brightness is not blasted to other drivers of course.
@randommadness1148 Жыл бұрын
Great video. If you liked that you should try the auxbeam ones they have a large projector surrounded by reflectors giving them a great combo beam. Also the light bars that use the same tech are a beast😂

Auxito did not provide the wiring harness with their kit. What kind of compatible wiring harness can I get? It would need to be able to turn on the amber and white.
@CarLightReviewsАй бұрын
Checking the current product page on Auxito's site, you need to select "with 14AWG 11.5 Feet DT Connector Wiring Harness Kit" when you order. Reach out to Auxito and see if they can help you out.
@SharonTaylor-m6mАй бұрын
@CarLightReviews yes, they are saying they cannot provide it as the warehouse is sold out. We had to buy another wiring harness with 2 switches for the amber and the white, hoping it will work. Auxito was no help.

Unfortunately, I can't suggest a recommendation for specific vehicles as I can't test them all, I am sorry to say. That's why I can offer a baseline reference. However, I do suggest that you review my headlight data spreadsheet here: carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs and use that data to guide your decision. Sorry I cannot be more specific to your needs!

@CarLightReview Just wondering. Are u still running the Lasfit - L series led 3157 brake light bulbs? If u do, how long u had them now? Any issues?
@CarLightReviews Жыл бұрын
The one from this old video of mine from way back? kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHycm2l9mNKLi8U Yes, I am still actually running them in my wife's vehicle. Still doing great, had no problems. Kinda surprised, it has been going on 4 years. I have been wanting to do a new 3157 shootout. What do you think?
@toyotabrony Жыл бұрын
@@CarLightReviews wow that’s pretty outstanding. Honestly I think these L series are worth the money for the nice longevity. I think the zevo and lasfit l-series last forever. But the zevo will last way more. And I’m honestly waiting and still excited to see more 3157 red brake lights shootout. I wanna see better results between sylvania zevo, lasfit L series and T series. Even lasfit just release the new version T3 series. Philips ultinon 3157 red led bulbs, auxito 3157R bulbs. Those are my top recommendations for anyone that’s lookin for the best led bulbs. I’m running 7443R sylvania zevo. It’s a day and night difference but the night is more difference
@toyotabrony Жыл бұрын
@@CarLightReviews honestly, sylvania zevo is worth the money for my 2015 lifted Scion xB. As long as the tail lights have a red lens, behind the red lens have chrome mirror reflection housing. And that makes a big difference. So yes I would looooooove to see more 3158 shootout. It’s been a while.
@toyotabrony Жыл бұрын
@@CarLightReviews I will say this. Any reputable brand of led bulbs that has between 1.5-5.5 watts is the best longevity. I have auxito 7440 A 42 pieces 2835 led turn signals. I had them for few months and one of them loss it’s power. The reason it’s got 24 watts per bulb. 1600 lumens, way brighter than low beam headlights. Which it makes sense. So the higher the wattage of the led bulb, the shorter of the lifespan I believe it will get. But the lower the wattage, while still remains super bright lights, the longer the lifespan is
@toyotabrony Жыл бұрын
And since u start slowly reviewing the off-road lights, how about review the amazing Morimoto banger series off-road pod lights? There’s 4 different banger styles, 1banger,2banger,4banger, and the big banger. They have NCS low power level, and HXB high power level. The 1banger has only one power level, the brightest so ur good. But on the 2,4,big bangers, u get to choose the power levels, which color which it comes with pure white or an amber, next is beam pattern. They are all excellent well made led lights.

Interesting topic , I think for lights like this you need an outdoor test range with 10feet markings till 300feet, this should be quit complicated. What about testing some 5,75" and 7" led headlight lamps in your garage ?! There are very cheap ones from China, I'm curious how they work in comparison to the led headlight bulbs.
@Thosolva96 Жыл бұрын
To properly test spotlamps, you have to find a long strech of road and use more complicated tools that are made for the job😅 i like the fact that you tried testing these, as these kinds of videos are sorely needed on youtube. But yeah, the tools required to do it the "right" way is quite hefty and expensive😊
@Briceon Жыл бұрын
I disagree with this not being safe on the road. It Clearly does have a good beam pattern and the glare is no worse than my Fahren Termitors in reflector H11.
@CarLightReviews Жыл бұрын
See the 8:50 mark of this video. Note how when the center of the beam is in the ground, yet there is light on the trees above. If your Termitors have that kind of pattern, you shouldn't be using them because you are likely blinding oncoming traffic. These will definitely do the same.
